19 pts 8 rbds just shy of 20-10
little optimistic are we? I predict 8 pts 5 rbds, count on it
2 pts, 2 rebs, 1 ast, 5 TOs, 4 PFs
Who had "not starting"?
Luis Scola!
8 pts 5 rbs for a rookie on his 1st game is pretty optimisting too :downspin:Quote:

Scola with a turnover!!!!!!
Lakers go the other way for a dunk!!!!!
Scola runs like Rebecca Lobo.
:lol at the commentator talking about Scola being for the Rockets what Manu is for the Spurs
Scola's going to be the Time Warner shill in Houston?
What did Scola do to piss his teammates off? He's getting frozen out.
1 minute, 2 rebounds
don't know but he sure doesn't seem to be getting any touchesQuote:

damn Houston sucks.
Scola revised prediction:
he will make a nice play before this game is over :D

I think saying "he will touch the ball on offense tonight" might be overly optimistic.Quote:

It just occured to me that Rick Adelman has always had semi-competent point guards, even if he didn't necessarily run the whole offense through them.
A team with Yao and no point guards may not be the best match for him.
Did Scola bring his ego to america with him?
Scola looks absolutely, completely and utterly lost out there.
Bonzi's the guy I'm really interested in seeing.
Too much ball hogging and over dribbling going on in Housten. Scola is getting the rookie treatment. I don't expect him to attempt more than 3 shots tonight with the way Housten is playing. Didn't T-Mac do those 'Team First' commercials?
He was owned a little by Turiaf, but he was getting wide open under the basket Oberto style.Quote:

Skip to my Lou and Tracy Mcgrady out there, they're not looking for anybody, but themselves. Just wait until Stevie gets sent loose. Shane Battier is like 1-6 and he's still chucking as well, what happend to him?Quote:

Gotta love that Adelman free-wheelin' style if your McGrady. Just chuck it up there with no one to rebound. No problem.
Scola's a great NBA garbage time player, against D-League competition, no doubt. :D
lol "They don't know whats going on"
As always, when in doubt, insult the people that pay your salary.
I blinked and missed him.Quote:

Yao's a monster. He's really stepping up his shit.
Mihm has, what, four inches on him? And he can't jump. And doesn't play good defense to begin with.
Luis Scola: 0 points, 2 rebounds.
:lmao
He did touch the ball twice on offense though.
I feel sorry for him more than anything right now -- it's like his own team hasn't scouted him and he just showed up straight from the airport.
And at least 5 posts defending his stats after the game is over. :lolQuote:

A lot of games left to play for Scola. I do wonder if there are too many offensive options on this team already, with McGrady Yao and Wells before him. Not to mention shoot-first PGs Alston and Francis. But it'll all work out.
lets be fair though, Scola hasn't gotten more than 2 or 3 passes the entire game. The plays just don't seem to include him.
Scola's gonna be fine -as long he can adapt to the NBA sooner than later, but setting an altar for his worshipping in the preseason is truly a premature ejaculation talk.
you do realize this is his FIRST game in the NBA right? I mean, talk about jumping the gun.Quote:

The guy isn't Chuck Hayes.
I think for most of the people having fun with this thread, it's less about ragging on Scola and more of ragging on those posters who have had his junk in their mouths all summer long.Quote:

You'd think with all the hype that the guy could at least score one point.
Yeah, having Scola but not utilizing him properly as a scorer off the block is quite the same as of putting Steve Nash as a defensive stopper, hopeless.
adelman is an offensive genius though...
:lmaoQuote:

The Houston Kings.
Battier didn't get the memo.
Crucial TO's by Mcgrady and Yao..............in the waning minutes of a close game.....
Battier's won something before. He bailed them out. That had classic Adelman choke job written all over it.Quote:

I still think 2005 was destined to be ours, but 2006 could've been Lakers.
Hate him, bash him, call him anything you want but Kobe is a warrior.
Not in my book. In my book he's a selfish team-wrecker...warriors are not petulant and petty.Quote:

Every Argentine who has played in the NBA sucked in the beginning of their rookie year. It's too early to be claiming victory on the Scola trade just yet.

He's a turnstile on the defensive end though.
