I'm pretty sure they owe the Pistons their 2nd rounder already for the Ronald Dupree trade a couple of years back.....maybe I'm mistaken.
they owe the pistons either their '08 2nd round pick or their '09 2nd round pick. not sure if this trade ensure the pistons get the '09 pick, or if they still get the '08 pick if the protections hold up (which they will).Quote:

A top 56 protected pick means that if the pick falls in the top 56, it is protected so that the Spurs dont get that pick.
If it falls below 56 then its the Spurs pick :D

Because cash is king in Minnesota these days, the Wolves grabbed it. Especially because the pick they promised only goes if the Wolves finish with one of the top four records in the league (right!). Otherwise, the pick gets "conveyed'' into the future and eventually forgotten.
