As Spurs fans, if we had won would we be calling the game meaningless? I doubt it.
I think the Mavs are in our heads more than a little bit. Who honestly didn't breath a sigh of relief when they got knocked out by the Warriors last year?
The Mavs are our nemesis until we can return the favor of knocking them out of the playoffs. I don't like the matchup problems they present, and frankly, I don't think Spurs ball is the best way to beat them. Our brand of possession basketball doesn't work against a team with this many weapons.
You need a high-octane attacking game plan, ala the Warriors. But we don't really have the legs or guns for that do we?
I think this article is a piece of garbage from top to bottom. These 2 sentenses make it very clear:
"They've got the proof because they have a championship, but in the back of their mind, they know they didn't go through us to get it." - sorry, but what happened with the other 3 rings?
"The Spurs, the established champions, have everything the Mavs desire. For Dallas, the league's most talented team from top to bottom, it's about fighting through their well-documented failures the last two seasons to win a championship." - same said from the Suns - the most talented team, blah blah, they lost... how is Dallas the league's most talented team? how is it more talented than the spurs? how do you quantify/qualify talent? OMG
What a piece of garbage - these guys are full of shit - I wish Spurs play the Mavs in the play offs so we can stop the train for good.

After a championship win I'd say there would be nothing on their minds but joy.
I think most seasoned spurs fans wouldn't put too much stock into a November win, if any at all.. unlike the DM news. At this stage of the season it more about how you play and what you can learn from it.
Still a funny read though.
Um....I can name two bigger rivalries...Quote:

This guy is obviously a Mavs homer, but he's a terrible writer! First of all, wouldn't you think that Phoenix hates SA more than Dallas? So, that's a bigger rivalry. And don't you think Dallas has more to prove against GS now than against Phoenix?
This guy just blows. I couldn't finish reading the article because I could no longer take him seriously after he said that.
