What is up with Tony Parker? He just seems distracted on the court.

Question : Do you guys think we're playing worse than last year? And do you think that it's not going to be as simple as last seasons "we're not making any trades" to fix the problem this time. I'm leaning towards looking at trade possibilities.

It's cool. No problem at all. But, honestly, Rasheed is just a character. He probably respects one team in the entire NBA, and it's the Spurs. And, aside from one or two jackass Piston fans on these boards, the majority of Pistons fans really respect the Spurs. We wish the Pistons have had the success the Spurs have had. Really, the Pistons and Pistons fans aren't the ones to get upset about after a game. We actually like you guys.

I think we're in better shape this year. Last year we didn't have the injuries to the big 3 that got them out of rhythm. We just blew. I really feel like we're going to go on a tear soon.

Aww group hug!
Kidding. I agree with JamStone. I dotn think there are two teams or two fan bases that respect each other as much as the pistons and spurs.
Hope we see each other at the end of the road :toast

Hunter is one of the best defenders in the league even at his advanced age. Don't you remember what he did to Beno?
Still, Parker & Gino played terribly. They had no confidence in their penetration on on their jump shots. You could tell they were intimidated by the Pistons defence.

I have seen that on this board. You guys always give us props and act humble after we face off against each other. I know Sheed is just a character. Shit talking, or dancing on a win, etc etc doesnt really bother me. If anything, it's why the game is fun. I dont take that stuff personally. Glad you understand and forgive me. :toast :toast

The way the Spurs are playing right now has nothing to do with personnel or lack there of. It's more of an effort and execution problem. The ball movement is not there, the energy is not there. And up until a few games ago the "Big 3" as a whole haven't been there. IMO there's no need to make a move via trade. Unless Barry is going to be sidelined longer then expected.

yes I agree..........just like tony parker. One announcer recently said that TP was basically a one-dimensional PG. Penetrate and layup. One dimensional players usually have a problem with a good defensive team. Tonight was another example. But it wasn't the first time and it won't be the last time.
Until TP has a reliable jumper, he will not be a clutch player against a top defensive team (no, i am not talking about Cleveland).

There was one sequence where everyone collapsed around Duncan and TP got a pass about 15 feet away with no one near him. He must have spent 3 seconds looking at the basket, wondering whether he should shoot it, and almost double-clutched it before realizing if he didn't shoot, he was going to be yelled at by Pop and let it go.
I mean, how could a supposedly top PG have that kind of lack of self-confidence on a wide open jumper 15 feet away with not one player near him? Damn he frustrates me. And i thought he was making real headways this year earlier in the season. Lately, he is playing like the old Parker that used to drive me crazy.

Um did Parker bang your wife or something? Quit being a douche and talk about something else for a change.

It wasn't from lack of effort. There were lot of matchup problems for Spurs. Bowen couldn't stop Hamilton. Parker couldn't do anything against Billups (did someone keep saying Parker is way better than Billups?). Oberto is too small and weak to stop Rasheed in the paint.
Our players try to go one-on-one instead of using TD (they started to go to him after Parker kept missing and getting the ball stripped, but by then it was too late).
And then when TD got hot. Gino tried to take over with jumpers and missed most of them.
Let's face it, Pistons just outplayed them.

Re: Spurs vs. Pistons Jan. 10 - Game Blog
It's hard for Bowen to stop anyone from the bench. When you are trying to come back at the end of the game, it's always nice to know you have Tim Duncan and Tony Parker patrolling the lane ready to defend the rim.

You most certainly must have an "Obstructed View" when you say defense and TP in the same sentence.
