Malik to Cleveland for Eric Snow.
RealGM trade checker approved Trade ID #4429468
Trade works and it gives NY a pass first point gaurd (albeit an old one)
Malik gets to escape and join Ferry & Mike Brown.
that would be pretty sweet.Quote:

are they going to do a remake? malik as Snake Plissken.... hmm....
Malik is a team player all the way. Unfortunately he was sacrificied for the better of the team. It might not be the easiest way to do it but it must be done. I admire his love for the team despite being traded. If ever given the opportunity, I hope he decides to return to the spurs. I know that is what his heart desires. I know he'll be a heck of a player again.
The worst trade in Spurs history.
Didn't Nazr play pretty well on the way to the 2005 ring? Also, it was an effective salary dump that enabled other moves to happen. Sad day, but there was a reason for it.Quote:

It's easy to remember, and to still want, the hustling, bustling Malik of 2003/04.
It's painful to remember the Malik of 2003/04.
Pop perhaps was not completely innocent, but as I remember it, Malik pretty much fucked himself up and off of the Spurs.
After 7 years of Pop's system, what the hell was Malik thinking?
Did his big contract after the 03 Championship go to his head?
Did $uccess spoil Malik Rose?

THIS IS THE ONLY DUDE TO ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK
What a coincidence... I posted in here that the Spurs should re-acquire Rose as a throw-in on Monday in this very Mill.
I like Nate Robinson.
Malik is getting paid to sit on a bench. what a tragedy
I would love for Malik to get traded to a good team. I hope it happens this season.
I wish he would get brought back here, but I don't see that happening.
( Unless I strike it rich enough to buy the Spurs. :) )
Dayum, now THAT's an idea! Nate could be the new Speedy, and Malik could give us the energetic bigman off the bench. Question is, why the hell would they give up Nate? Surely he, Crawford and Lee are the three guys the Knicks DON'T want to trade?Quote:

the guy interviewing said it right. they just don't make many of them like malik.
he was a such a hard-working guy on the court. all too often we see players with much more talent than malik taking plays off and being lazy and it's really hurting the game. you have to respect the mans effort.
malik made the most out of his talent (money and sucess).
The spurs were better off without him in 05, and especially in 06 when we had to seal up the other two of the big 3.
sucks that we had to lose a good person on the team, but it won us more rings.
$7,647,500

really?
I would say no considering his best season came the season following the off-season that he signed the contract. So your whole point is incorrect.Quote:

(the contract wasn't that outrageous in amount either, just length, but the Lakers were interested and had just beat the Spurs with Malik performing well, no way the Spurs let him go, they got him for around market value too)
Considering the lack of talent we have with our reserve big men - I think Malik would be a welcome addition! He was always scrapping for rebounds and played Shaq probably better than almost anybody in the league!
We're losing too many games because of rebounding - Malik couldn't be worse than Elson or Bonner!
