in other news... i was actually moved to post about the spurs on this board for the first time in a month and a half, so the playoffs are that much closer...
I am about to go into rodeo road trip posting mode.
Spurstalk quivers with anticipation... :rolleyes

I am not sure that the switch has been flipped, but the second half certainly had to be a sign of things to come. Regardless if our opponent was shorthanded. It was good to see the team play at a much higher level. Let's hope this carries over into the RRT.

I don't know about flipped, but I like the fact that they played with such energy and movement. Makes me feel like they might start heading in the right direction.
Let's see if Udoka can replicate his play Thursday night... or come close to it.Quote:

Yeah ok.
I didn't know Shoog was such a closet Hornets fan :)
The Hornets will be a good measuring stick.
Shoog was a Hornets fan back when they were the Jazz.Quote:

To imply I was ever a Jazz fan is a low blow.Quote:

"Hello, Im shoogar, and I use to be an old school Jazz fan"
"Hello shoogar"
The club never had a jazz in their name.
Or maybe they do have a band there? ;)
wait..... you mean the Spurs DONT suck?? :rolleyes :dramaquee
This game was an encouraging sign, and the Spurs are under the radar too, right where they like to be.
Let espn and the media talk about the celtics, lakers, hornets, magic, blazers, whoever. We've all seen this movie before.
we just needed barry back is what it came down to. then we have our rhythm and its smooth sailing
Me too. Last year the road trip was an indecisive 4-4, but it brought the team together and they never looked back. Same again on the menu this year.Quote:

Someone was mentioning a flipped switch? Did it get flipped back the other way?
No, the light just flickered.Quote:

TO me the defense worked to plan, close the lane force D Wade to pass to others, and Mark Blount, Jason Williams, and other stooges shot out of their minds most of the game. Especially Mark Blount.Quote:

I agree, and agree generally that a win, under the circumstances, was nothing to really sneeze at, but I'm not ready to believe quite yet that the Spurs have completely turned the corner and are starting to roll downhill quite yet. Obviously, I hope I'm wrong about that, but there were still somet things tonight that left me reluctant to buy into the flipped switch conclusion.Quote:

It's just too much to overcome and what needs to be done wont be due to a stubborn front office.
I still don't consider a jump shooting team, and has Peja Stoyakovic relied on heavily to help let off pressure on the inside.
Personally the Spurs switched way too much on defense, and there was way too much double teaming of Chris Paul.
Bowen should've stayed on Peja, and Udoka to Paul and let Parker play free roamer.
Good call.Quote:

There's still time to right the ship. However at some point, an honest assessment (of the team's true capabilities and the makeup of the roster) must be made. The question is how long does the coaches and FO wait to do so?
^^ lol, good call...
