You gotta take DAL in a heartbeat. Nowitzki is basically playing on one leg, just keep attacking him relentlessly with Parker and Ginobli and you'll have a repeat of this Sun's series.
NOH is the only team that represents a significant challenge, outside of LAL and UTAH.
let's finish the series first. I am afraid Suns will win Sunday and it will be a great game back in SA
The Hornets have the talent, but the Mavs have experience. AT this point, I say the Spurs could beat either team in no more than 6 games.
Mavs. It would be gnarly if we end up beating all the teams that made a big midseason trade (suns, mavs, lakers).
^^^dude, that would be pretty fuckin sweet!
The Spurs are the model of consistency.
We don't need blockbusters.
Just Crazy Eyes.
I would like to play the Charlotte Bobcats in Round 2.
:lol Let's wait until this series is over first.
Although, getting the 3 seed is looking more and more like a blessing in disguise. Spurs have avoided playing a physical Utah team in the 2nd round and instead may get the chance to play a struggling Mavericks team or an inexperienced Hornets team. Although I must admit, the Hornets are a handful. It's another team, like the Suns, who owned the Spurs in the regular season. But we all saw that regular season wins don't mean anything to the Spurs.
:lol
Actually I would like to play the Suns in every round though. :rollin
I respect those who don't want to make that prediction and instead continue to focus on the current apponent. It's prudent to focus on the task at hand and then move on. But the Spurs/Suns have scouts at the Mavs/Hornets games in order to prepare for round 2 regardless of what the record is in round 1. Also just prudent behavior.
Either team but if pressed then I would like to play the Hornets. Simply because of how they played us this season and show them the difference between the regular season and the playoffs. Play mind games with them. This team and not the Mavs are going to be the team we need to focus on in the future. The Mavs have pretty much shot themselves in the foot with the Kidd trade - see thread on this for more info. The future Hornets could = the present day Suns. Come playoff time I want that team to question their ability of beating the Spurs. When it doesn't happen then it begins to fester and grow deep down inside them. Just like the Celtics, Lakers and Bulls had the same effect on other teams during their championship runs so do the Spurs. When other teams start losing here comes the inevitable "Oh no it's happening again! Will we ever beat this team?" Hell we even had that mind set to a certain extent when playing the Stockton/Malone Jazz teams. I remember saying - what the hell is it going to take to beat these guys? (the questioning mind set) That comes with winning championships. And it's a good thing if your a fan of those teams.
The Spurs are focused and its only a matter of time before they dispose of the Suns. Even though it is mathematically possible to win this series the Suns wont. I don't believe that the Spurs will lose 4 straight games to them. This aint '04 and they sure as hell aren't the Lakers.

Let's take care of business first.
Those who are being superstitious are idiots. This series is over, Suns and Spurs fans know it, now get your head outta your ass. This is a message board where we discuss things, it has no effect on the team's play.
On another note, Mavs.

Don't forget that we have home-court advantage over the Mavs...
I wanted to do this poll but after winnig the series, this could be a very dangerous thread.
I'd want to see them go up to the Hornets as it would be more of a challenge, but seeing them against the Mavs would also be good. Ethier way, it will proboully be a good series. We'll have an easier time with the mavs though.
