Re: Can an ExMavs fan jump on your Spurs wagon?
LSUhornetSaints you have less than 50 posts!
I wouldn't be talking about jumping to another anything you must of abandoned your site to be here. If the Spurs had an early exit and wanted to Root for the Mavs after they defeated the Suns I would welcome them. A Spurs fan will root for the Dallas Mavericks before they root for the Houston Rockets!
There are more Dallas Cowboy fans here in San Antonio than there is Houston Oilers / Texans fans. I am not sure the connection but I know we hate the Rockets like we hate Taco bell!
In any case who do you want some Dallas Maverick fan to root for when he is at a sports bar on hot date? or is he supposed to curler up in the fetal position just because his Mavericks are eliminated?
You want him to root for the Celtics? He is from "Texas" And In "Texas"we have each others back unlike your Best Buy looting Hornets fans.
Go SPURS Go!

Mouse, not sure what you are talking about here. My name is LSU hornets saints. That pretty much sums up who my teams are and I will never abandon any of them. I have 50 posts because it was just confirmed that my team is playing yours in the playoffs and I like to get opinions from both side and not just the Homer Hornets view on my site.

I am sorry if I took the post wrong, but to me joining a teams bandwagon is allot different than just rooting for another team. Being on a team's bandwagon implies you are a true fan and that is your #1 team in that sport. Answer this question for me: Do you believe it is possible to be on two different teams bandwagons in the same sport at the same time?
It really is not which means you have to jump off your original teams BW to get on the new teams BW, so you can receive joy from winning. You can only recieve the true joy of winning a championship from one team. Sure you can root for other teams to win. I rooted for the Giants to beat the Patriots, but I didn't receive any true joy when they did. I admit I don't understand the bonds between Texas teams but you are still division rivals (apparently this does not mean anywhere near as much in the NBA as the NFL). Like I said above, If my Saints lose in the 1rst round or don't even make the playoffs, I usually choose a team I like for some asinine reason to root for, but I don't jump on their bandwagon and start posting on their forum. And I never root for any of the 3 teams in our division to do anything but get blownout, and if I jumped on their bandwagon my own family would literally disown me. I'm just telling you this to show the huge difference btw rooting and bandwagon jumping where I come from.

The reason for this is because the Cowboys have been so good over the years, and since SA doesn't have a team who's bandwagon do you think they are going to jump on: The multiple SuperBowl winning Cowboys or the not so winning oilers/texans? Ican tell you this too, No tru Cowboy or Texan fan ever roots for the other to win.

Like I said in a previous post, I am born and raised in N.O. and we did not have a NBA team until 4 years ago, and two of those were spent in OKC and the team was terrible every year. So I am not nearly as aware of how rivalries and hatred for other teams works in the NBA as you are. I just assumed that rooting for a division rival (especially one with the history between y'all two) would be a no-no, and that jumping on their bandwagon (which I believe we have different definitions for) which in my book constitutes a complete betrayal of your previous team would be frowned upon.
But, You are right that you should be able to root for other teams after yours gets knocked out. I just did not think Mavs fans would pick the Spurs to root for. Sorry about the length I am studying for a final and needed a break.

I am a Hornet fan and I am relatively new to passionately rooting for my team in the NBA playoffs, because I never had a team in my hometown, NO, before a few years ago.
All I can relate this to is if the Saints and Falcons(our rival) were in the playoffs and the saints lost and the Falcons won, And then some Saints fan started asking to be on the Falcons bandwagon he would tar and feathered (maybe burned at the stake). No Saints fan would ever speak to him again. True fans stick with their team through the good an bad times. This is what makes the good times so great when they finally come. Suck it up man, theres always next year.
Well said!!!

I'm not so sure. I would root for another Texas team even if they were our rival. The fact is that my homerism isn't confined to SATX. If we got beat by a better team, I'd like the trophy to stay in TX at least.
