It's just something they do. Just like the annoying "WHOOOOO" they do everytime Chris Paul scores.

The Peja heads are hilarious to me. I'm not sure if it's the smile on his face or the fact that someone is running around with it jumping up and down.
Nevertheless, it's one of the reasons why I love going to Hornets games. Their PR department gets an A+ from me for the way they immerse the crowd during timeouts, during big plays, etc.
Intimidation.
