Yea, I can go with that "emotionalism" stuff. I think Pop's guilty of quite a bit of this. I think he made some serious strategy errors, when you put them together with poor field goal performance, too many missed free throws, what else does one expect? You come up on the short end of the stick, but hey, REPEATING is the hardest thing on earth to do in this business. Everybody had their stinger out for San Antoinio this year, which is alway how it works. Everybody wants to knock off the champs.
Re: Spurs @ Lakers Game 5 - Game Blog
Congrats ALL but please Spurs wish us luck in the NBA FINALS :downspin:
Re: Spurs @ Lakers Game 5 - Game Blog
And the Spurs continue to illustrate why their indeed a Fake Dynasty. Oh yes, another flameout, another failed Western Conference title defense, another year of not approaching the NBA Finals the season following a championship. And if you look below, you'll see that the Lakers ran you guys over in the Pau mobile, while drinking beer and dancing. MAYBE NEXT YEAR.

The films show clearly Parker's head is far larger than his abilities; the box score shows it, and denying it really isn't an option. Right now, as I type out these lines, the WOAI Motormouths (1200kc on the AM radio dial) are ** ADMITTING ** that Manu was suffering numerous injuries, so I guess that means we don't need to debate the issue that Manu was not his usual self. Which raises the question, why do you put an injured player on the floor for substantial minutes who can't deliver the mail? I guess Pop doesn't want to suffer the barrage of criticism from the fans, because Manu is Latino and San Antonio is a Latino community. Don't wish to throw racism into the equation, but what the hell is is the answer? It doesn't make any sense. WOAI says "Pop had to go with the guys that got them there". What insane logic. But, I suppose when your head coach leaves other capable players to rot on the bench, thus destroying their conficence, and making it pointless to put them into the game at a time like this, you don't have many options left.
And again I respectfully disagree with Ms Ellis, remembering she's the Big Honcho here at the Forum, but it's true, Parker DOES shoot too much, way tooooooooooo much. Parker seems to have it in his head that only he, Parker, can pull the chestnuts out of the fire, which the way the game ended, suggests clearly such is not the case. I doubt anyone on this Forum wants to hear about Beno at a time like this, but the Ghost of Beno Udrih certainly has come back to haunt the Spurs at a time like this, but actually, I'm glad Beno is NOT here because Beno has a new lease on life going to another team, as his performance at SAC has shown, but they sure could have used him through the past several weeks.
All speculation, true enough, but what else is this Forum good for??
Oh, forgot.......... You gotta make free throws if you want to bde in the champion's circle.

Spurs posed much more of a threat than Phx did to us. I would think it would be obvious why.
Utah as well.

Pop played a banged up Manu because he trusted Manu. He probably should have shaved off some of those minutes in Game 1 and gave it to Barry. But whatever the case, unless Manu is absolutely unable to play, Pop needed Ginobili out there if he wanted any chance of winning.
You probably missed Pop's memo giving Tony the go ahead to look for his shots early and taking about 20 shots a game.
And I'll tell you what Beno wouldn't have done. He wouldn't have played his heart out and tried his best to rally the Spurs back into the game. He wouldn't have taken so many hits and still be man enough to attack the lane time and again. Because he wouldn't have made it past halfcourt.
Nice troll job, though. But I needed to vent so what the hell... :lmao

Don't worry about the Lakers now, dude. You had your chance to worry about the Lakers. Worry about the upcoming draft and getting a solid free agent or two to play in San Antonio. If you're lucky, you'll improve that team and come back strong. Bitterness will get you nowhere, clown.
Re: Spurs @ Lakers Game 5 - Game Blog
Well...so the Spurs' season has come to an end. They had a good chance to repeat, but age and mileage has taken its toll on this team. They were no match for a younger, more athletic Lakers team. Too many scoring droughts...too many blown leads in the second half...that was a problem all season, not just in this series...the Spurs continually ran out of gas in the second half. Spurs need to get some youth and speed on their bench for next season...most of the old farts they have there now just ain't cuttin' it anymore. Horry and Finley will probably retire, and they should.
That said...Congrats to the Lakers...bring it home for the West, guys!!!
