Re: Horry walked off the court.
Horry-- Well, I'm not saying anything rude because Horry has been in the league a long time, but I honestly think his performance in the Playoffs this season were very much sub-par, and the box scores certainly show this. Who's the better 3-point shooter, Horry or Barry? The stats clearly indicate Barry, but then Barry's numbers beat everyone else as well, so I think Pop was right giving Barry what probably was Horry's minutes, but the team didn't seem like they made any effort to get the ball to Barry.
No, Horry has no reason to complain. You can only field 5 players and what the team needed tonight was not another good rebounder (such as Horry-- which he is), but SCORERES. Horry has not been scoring very well, so I don't think he should be upset.
Good grief, there are other members of the team that didn't get minutes, and they are not slouches either. Probably just one of those things of the moment. It's tough, a time like this, so maybe no one will make such a big deal about it.

Sucks for Horry, but he didn't deserve the PT this series. KT kept us in this game.
Re: Horry walked off the court.
If that's Rob's last game, then a big thank you to him from all the real Spurs fans for 5 great years of service to our team.
I'd love to have Rob back if he chooses to continue playing, and if not, all the best to him and his daughter in whatever he pursues post-NBA.
:toast
Re: Horry walked off the court.
Maybe not the best way to call it a career, but reality is reality. He wasn't producing, so he didn't deserve minutes. This was a do or die game. He hadn't done anything to prove he rated the floor time.
I appreciate Robert Horry for everything he has done in a Spurs uniform, but he didn't deserve the minutes he recieved in this series, plain and simple.
Re: Horry walked off the court.
I love Horry and thank him for his contributions. I trust his walking off was not because of him being pissed off.
The Spurs were trying to win this game. They weren't obligated to play him. Anyway, he's been MIA for most of this season. He had more than his share of chances to produce in this series and was unable to do so. He was either absent, injured, out of shape, or simply unproductive.
I don't want to see the Spurs waste another roster spot on an aging vet, who can't cut it every night. I totally get the fact that the Spurs have a family atmosphere, but it's still a business. Sentiments cannot get in the way of the pursuit of a title.
Horry's had a wonderful career. He's a proud man and he's not nothing to be ashamed of.
Re: Horry walked off the court.
his season didn't start out well. had a hamstring injury at the beginning of the year. and just when he was hitting his stride, injury felled him again in mid-season. he never found his groove. injury has been the story of the spurs this season. that and the bench being old.

No shit ! If not for Horry, we wouldn't have won our most satisfying championship against the Pistons. He almost singlehandedly won that game for us when Timmy was pulling a choke job. He helped us get 2 rings and you want to trash him now ? What bullshit.
We lost because Manu was injured and played through it like a warrior. How can anyone say he wasn't injured ? We also lost because of the Lakers being the better team this year. With a healthy Manu, I think we win but at the very least we force a game 7.
Geezus...give Horry his props. He was a helluva player and suffered through alot of personal and physical problems this year and just didn't have it this year.
Re: Horry walked off the court.
God Spurs fans dont deserve Horry, ever, for their reaction. Blessings stop being a moron. Even though he handed you guys the series in 03' most true Lakers fans still love Bob because 3-peat wouldnt have been possible without him. Spurs fans hate for him shows they don't deserve the clutch shots he made for them.
Re: Horry walked off the court.
I was thinking of Rob before the game ended. Would have wanted to see him out there in the end. I'm torn between wanting to see him play again and having the Spurs gt younger. But Rob has had a great career, and sometimes you just have to walk away before they kick you out.
Re: Horry walked off the court.
The worst part of this season, is how idealistic the championship would have been this year...
for Horry's last hurrah, etc. Man it's painful to think about, in terms of best case scenarios...Just wasn't meant to be. :depressed
Re: Horry walked off the court.
Robert Horry can still do what Massenberg did for us...actuually he can do more. You always want a guy like him in the bench.

Agreed. I would still bring Big shot back.
a longer offseason and a better start to a season would do him some good.
Re: Horry walked off the court.
All good things come to an end. He's had a great career. This is a young man's game.
Re: Horry walked off the court.
At this point in his career, RHorry can do anything he wants............
Re: Horry walked off the court.
Probably hurt Bob, knowing that his last game was a losing effort in the place he'd made so many great memories. I totally understand it. Not a big deal at all.
Re: Horry walked off the court.
Put him on the coaching staff... But as a player on the floor? No.
Re: Horry walked off the court.
Hope he walks home from LA...
him and the other idiots on the team who didnt bother to turn up for this playoff series should not be allowed on the bus home to S.A.....
Re: Horry walked off the court.
Robert -freaking- Horry gave both the Lakers fans and the Spurs fans some of their most cherished memories in the last decade and Spurs trolls and Lakers trolls alike are dissing on him....
Far as I'm concerned, as a Laker fan, hes' welcomed into my restaurant any day of the week and he will never, ever get a bill.
Good Luck Rob and thanks for the memories.
