LOL. Good job dude.
You tell Manu!

You can get that thought out of your mind now. Like Pop said last night in the post-game interview, Tony, Manu and TD will be back next year, and we'll build around them.
Manu was 1) spent, 2) injured and 3) being swarmed by the Lakers. It's no surprise the Lakers focused on Manu either, considering he has been our best player this season. The thing is, nobody in our bench gave us a lift. If Finley scores 10 ppg, Horry scores 10 ppg, and Bones scores 10 ppg, we win game 1 and 4. Maybe even game 5.

Dude, how many Championships do you think we'd have without Manu?
And who do you think we'd get for Manu? Kobe Bryant?!? :lol

Re: Skip Bayless of ESPN: Manu is the reason Spurs lost
Hey, the guy was hurt. It's not like he wanted to be hurt. He courageously tried to play through it but could not. Had he been full strength, perhaps the outcome would've been different. It's no different that Chauncey Billups' hamstring injury. Attrition is just as much a villian of championship hopes as anything else. The only difference is that the Pistons have an adequate backup in place to somewhat offset Billiups' injury. The Spurs, of course, do not. We've seen it all year. Injuries to any member of our core trio have been devastating. It should be no surprise this team faltered in the conference finals. This will become even more prevalent as this trio gets older. So again, if you really want to lay blame into someone, I say lay blame to Pop

Re: Skip Bayless of ESPN: Manu is the reason Spurs lost
So the guy unfortunately had one bad series that cost us a chance at the title. That doesn't mean we just give up on him and trade him. He's third team all NBA for a reason.
Hopefully this loss motivates him and he'll be back with a vengeance next year and be better than ever.

Javtokas WILL join the Spurs.
The only reason I am confirming this to you guys is because I'm an avid reader of this forum and the endless threads about this subject are killing me. Hopefully you guys can talk about something else now.

MANU IF YOU ARE READING THIS I HOPE YOU CAN'T SLEEP AT NIGHT. YOU BETTER BRING YOUR BEST GAME NEXT SEASON BITCH. NO EXCUSES!!!!
Basketball isn't a one mans' game :rolleyes

Manu is so great for someone who played less 28 minutes per game in his career.

Where were you the last 5 years when Manu was winning it all?
Right, you can go back to your cave now.

Another "golden oldie" from Jayem... this one way back in 2007... after we lost ONE Game! Against the Nuggets! LOL

We had our time to shine, we got some some rings. Everything must come to an end. We should continue to root and support our guys but we got to be realistic.
It was fun while it lasted.
Good luck Dallas and Phoenix, the cycle will repeat and the Spurs one day will be back on top.
Yeah, keep talking smack, Spurs "fan".

it was possible, the year kobe signed his max contract, he was toying around about exploring the FA....
it wouldve cost the spurs parker/ginoboli...and a few pieces to get it to work...

Re: Skip Bayless of ESPN: Manu is the reason Spurs lost
Ginobili not being healthy and able to contribute and create havoc like normally, is a pretty good reason they lost.

The key being Tony AND Manu.
Manu straight up would give us somebody < Manu.

word.
Manu was obviously hurt. No lateral movement, no explosiveness, slow.
Any person with common sense can see that. Manu does not need to spell it out for you. Manu gives no excuses, so if asked, he will say "I am fine"
the OP is an :idiot

seriously spurs fans, stop making this excuse!
how can you be hurt when you suck the first few games, magically be better and drop 30, then be hurt again. MANU CHOKED. PERIOD.
Get over it Jayem! Life goes on and there are more important things in life than basketball. The Spurs have given us (not you Jayem) Spurs fans 10 wonderful years with 4 championships. And every year they go deep into the playoffs. So maybe the fatigue finally caught up with them. I am proud of our Spurs and everything they have done. Sure I am upset that they could not advance farther against the Lakers, who by the way got an injection of fresh legs and new life with Pau Gasol, but I do not in anyway hate the Spurs! If you are going to come on here and bitch every day of your hate for the Spurs, them just go away and pollute some other teams fan forum. It's just a game!

That being said, an honest assesment needs to be made on Ginobili. He is turning 31, he always plays hurt b/c of his "style of play", and he will eventually lose his explosion becoming a player like Finley or Horry.
I hate to say it, but what if the Spurs traded Ginobili? He still has value right now, and he could garner the Spurs two young players (perhaps J. Smith/R. Childress/J. Johnson combo from the Hawks) to play alongside Bruce, Tim, and Tony.
I'd hate to trade him, but I don't think he will ever be 100% healthy and that affects his game more than the other guys. Once he loses his explosion, he'll be nothing more than a role player.
No, I think Manu has some good years left. Spurs need to build around the big three; have the guys in place so when the transition comes, it won't be painful as in participating in the lottery.

Teams will not just give up their future. If you look anywhere it must be at a team who is near the top, possibly Phoenix. But, do you really want to do that? Come on now.
