....... wut?
Prove me wrong, how is that not a charge?![]()
....... wut?
I love how I knew what you meant instantly. I love the crowd's reaction to that call.
he was still moving.
Even if called, it doesn't change the outcome of that game tbh.
As announcers like to say, it was a bang-bang play. Pretty sure rip was still moving once horry left his feet
he turned his shoulder into Horry and didn't take a full on charge.
This is something that bothers me tbh. Rip has both feet in the air when the contact is made. That is a good call in my opinion. In today's game they are so lax about being set while taking a charge. Today Rip would get the call, but if you read the rules literally virtually all the charges they call today are incorrect. Bring back the toughness, physicality, hand-checking, hard fouls, and in this case shot blocking. I wish we could see people go up for a block rather than run in the way and fall down.
Rant over
legendary horry
what? 3pt play instead of a charge in a 1pt game? r u kiddin?
He hopped right before Horry hit him..not a charge...thanks anyway.
Damn I love Rob, stealing les from both Detroit and Phoenix.
However you view that play, Steve Javie had some major, major stones to make that call in that arena in that cir stance.
Here's the proof that it wasn't a charge:
1:25.0 R. Horry makes 2-pt shot at rim +2 93-95
1:25.0 Shooting foul by R. Hamilton 93-95
1:25.0 R. Horry misses free throw 1 of 1 93-95

Stern conspiracies aside, I always wanted Salvatore at home and Javie on the road.
Rip with the bunny hop at the end lol. No charge.
exactly
We won the game, but RIP had a OF AN O FOUL at the end of the game! He nearly took Tony's head off with that elbow to clear out! Pistons fans ed but that was a clear O FOUL NOT CALLED! THANK GOD He missed.
It's cool, he elbowed the out of Tony in OT and didn't get called for it. Plus Horry missed the FT anyway![]()
Rip turned his body slightly as it looks like he was bracing for the contact... Once you do that it's nearly impossible to get the charge call. He may have been .00001 seconds late in getting to the spot. All in all, I think it was the right call. It's a bang bang play, but it's MUCH easier to argue it as a block than it is to argue it as a charge.
& Dan Crawford always & Joey Crawford never.
BALL DON'T LIE.
As an aside, if the ball don't lie, what does someone making 1 out of 2 FTs mean?
The ball doesn't lie, but it stretches the truth.
