First,I'm elated/ecstatic that we got Blair. He reminds me of a mini Moses Malone. He will create havoc on the O boards! My only question to those more knowledgeable then myself is WHY every FO in the league passed on him? What is the deal with his knees? Does he just need to rehabilitate them because he has no ACL's? Did every team doubt that he could do 30 minutes/game 82 times a season? Enlighten me with your insights and wisdom!

He doesn't really need to do any rehab. He did fine in college with the ACL issues. According to his coach, he never missed a single practice or game because of them.
NBA teams just got scared because they saw an MRI of his knees that looked bad.
As RC said, it was the "red flags" on his medical record about his ACL's. Other than that...
This kid is going to be good, he has a chip on his back and he is going to prove how wrong the other FO were when they passed him.
He was in the draft for a reason so we just have to wait and see the things he can do in the NBA.![]()
Because he is secretly a witch and a project.
Isn't it better that he doesn't have any ACLs? that means he can't tear them lol
The general consensus appears to be that his knees are good for about 2-3 years before he starts living life on the injured list.
I don't think the weight was really the issue..100% knees..it's a legitimate concern, and there's a chance that the guy stays injured and doesn't contribute anything..drafting him in the 2nd round is the ultimate low-risk/high reward move though..
I'm not sure that's the consensus at all.
If he does not control his weight, his knees will wear out in no time with the 82 game schedule.
I kind of agree, I just meant that the weight wouldn't be an issue without the knee problem though..
I heard he beats his mother...
It is strange how much stock NBA execs put in a MRI photo. Doctors don't always know everything and for all we know his knees may not be as bad as everyone is saying. Doctors tend to exaggerate even the smallest things. IMO, I trust Blair to know his own body better than anyone else and from what I saw from his games in college, he is the only one who isn't concerned about his knees.
He said he just lost 15 pounds since the season ended (but added muscle). He must be aware that if his weight drops, his knees stay better.
