Bowen set to make his ESPN debut on NBA Coast to Coast within the next few minutes. He will be on shortly
He says via Twitter that he'll be debuting on Tuesday and Wednesday. Not sure which programs, I've asked him via Twitter but haven't gotten a response.

He's actually really good. He looks like a season ESPN analyst vet. Go Bruce Go! Saw him on ESPN News earlier.
He did well.
I stumbled upon his debut on ESPNEWS, where he was rockin' the lavender bow tie, and was glad to hear him give him an unsolicited mention of Tim. And his Coast-to-Coast debut was full of win on account of how they ended his segment: Matt Winer compliments him on his debut and says it was a success because he (Matt Winer) didn't score a bucket, to which Bowen replies: I'm just glad you didn't get hurt.![]()
ohhh damn missed it
He looked like he's been doing it for years.
Yeah he was pretty great for a first timer. I wonder if those analyst segments are written ahead of time and on a prompter or if its just like "Ok, you're going to talk about the Celtics, then the Suns, then the Hornets". I know the regular SportsCenter things are teleprompted, but I wonder if its the same for the analyst segments.
On another note, at least with Bruce, ESPN won't have to worry about any Phillips/Salisbury issues.
wtf was he wearing a polkadotted bowtie? CROFL
I feel like when Bob Morton kissed that chick with oliver people's glasses and pointed at Robocop and said, "I in love that guy!"
He comes across with the same candor and professionalism we are used to, serious look in his eye, but he's wearin a in bow tie
this will go down as one of the greatest moment in spurs-ex history.
I hear Bill Simmons in his new basketball book talks alot about awesome NBA players who make ty tv guys. Too bad the book is out before Bruce hits the airwaves.
One of the key aspects to a successful nba analyst/tv guy is the ability to look comfortable when glancing from your co-host to the viewer (the camera) and back. It's the reason why Eric Snow sucks (even though he is smart) and why Jalen Rose blew. Bruce looks extremely comfortable. We all knew it years ago, this guy has a great future in the broadcasting.
All we need to do is somehow get him to team up with Sean Elliott and they can do double-color on spurs games. That would ing rule.
Thanks for the link!![]()
The Spurs are getting some quality representation with Bruce, Brent and, to a lesser extent, Smitty; that bow tie was redonkulously spectacular.![]()
I actually thought he sounded nervous but congrats Bruce! looking forward to seeing you throughout the season.
had a few grammatical chips here and there thinking beyond his talking but a very solid debut indeed![]()
He would be great opposite Barkley in the TNT booth.
He seemed really comfortable. Congrats, Bruce!!
I wonder how many people here will turn on him when he gives the Spurs their first constructive criticism.
Until the Spurs stop giving up 110+, 120+ per game, he can say whatever the he wants about the Spurs.
He should criticize the coaching.
So, does he still play constant defense, even in the studio?
Awesome dig against himself there at the end, "but I'm happy that you're not hurt right now."
I really hope Bruce keeps this up. The dude is awesome.
The bow tie looks good on Bruce. Joakim Noah, on the other hand...

Hes going to be one of their better analyst.
