Scored against the Czechs and has signed with Pachuca. I'm still stunned he has bounced back this much.....led the Mexican league in scoring (tied).
Not convinced by Buddle but Bradley picked him up too because he's on fire
The US goal scorers today... that's who. Who'd have thought. Encouraging play by the front today... the back - not so much.
I've been skeptical of Buddle, but I guess the guy just has a knack for goals.
Dempsey was a little disappointing today, but he was getting hacked. Suprised Bradley left him out that long risking a second yellow.
DeMeritt looked bad. Gooch looking suspect too.
brilliant game, sure we may have our complaints here and there, but I don't think any of the consensus world powers could have done a better job. I dont think Altidore could have done better.
I thought Dempsey had one of his better international games in a while. I think we need more out of Bradley to help control the game and indirectly help out the back line. Way too many chances for the Aussies, many of which could/should have gone in.
I had the same injury Onyewu had just a couple of weeks before he did had his and he runs just like I do now (visually)... and I know how I feel and a lot of my posture/gait is from my tentativeness, etc. I love Gooch but he may be a liability. Unfortunately, him at 70% may be better than any other options the US has.
Our back line is just not deep nor very good. Hurt Gooch will still be the best component. Also, perhaps DerMerit just has a nose for the big game. Or at least thats my hope.
