The 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup will be the 11th edition of the CONCACAF Gold Cup compe ion and 21st CONCACAF regional championship overall. The winner of the tournament will qualify for the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil. A host nation for the Gold Cup has not yet been announced.
An announcement is suppose to be made this month. I think its only Fair Mexico Host this edition,USA hosted and Won in 2005(Qualification to Confederation Cup). Either way USA needs to win cause Im tired of Sporting my '05 as this was the last meaningful tourney we won.

Atleast Mexico didn't choke against Brasil in the confed final.
(Mexico tapped brasil's ass in the Confed Final. and then again in 2005 and again in Copa America 2007)
Everytime USA plays Mexico they sit back like es with all 11 players back waiting to counter all game long. While Mexico is on the attack. But it's all good we know whenever USA beats Mexico they act like they won the world cup or some . And that holds true for any Concacaf team that beats Mexico. Kind of sad really.

And By the way the last 10 head to head matchups have been 5W-4L-1D USA. Mexico winning the last 2 in a row
And 3-4 of Mexico's past losses against USA were under Eriksson and Hugo Sanchez. And anyone will tell you they both had Mexico playing like and almost cost them qualifying to the WC.

Mexico won't host the gold cup though. It'll be back in the US again.

The US team did participate in the '07 version, and I'm pretty sure they'll be in it from now on along with mexico
