Was wondering if you guys can give your opinion...

I went to Costco cuz a homie told me the 70 inch Sharp Aquos LED (120hz) ive been wanting went down to $1,899. So i go there ready to buy it and next to it is another Sharp LED but this one is Quattron (240hz), but its $2,599.

After 30 mins of staring at both, i ended up buying the $2,599 ones which i hate cuz i wasnt planning on spending that much. I just felt i was gonna regret getting the cheaper version cuz it seems like everytime something moved, that area got fuzzy.

Anyways...anyone have any thoughts about Aquos and Quattron? Im not sure if im just being nit picky or if Quattron is legit. I know Sharp isnt the best, but i have a big living room and need a bigger screen then th usuals.

There's supposed to be a small amount of ghosting and artifacts with the 120 that you won't see with the 240. You got a bad ass TV, that much I do know.

Quattron is a gimmick. How do you benefit from a fourth color when the source only contains three (RGB)?

Not that it's not a nice set otherwise.

I set it up and watched some MNF...its very clean. The ghosting was way to blatant when i was in costco so i guess i have no regrets.

Ouch, that sucks. I have a friend who purchased a 40 inch last year and it was his first large new purchase of his life. I won't tell him since its already a sunk cost and no point in doing so now, but if he decides to buy a new TV, I will bring it up.

Quattron might be a gimmick but something made the more expensive tv better quality. I reckon it must be the refresh rate of 240hz compare to 120hz. At 70 inches, that's probably a big deal

Did you read the magazine? Page 49.

Third, while 120Hz refresh rate monitors and HDTVs don’t inherently improve on motion blur over the 60Hz models, they are generally
equipped with better performing panels and electronics, so they may still produce superior image and picture quality. And if you’re a movie
buff, the 120Hz units should offer better motion interpolation from the 24 frames per second used in all movies shot on film.
    The 60Hz models
need 3:2 pull-down, which produces judder, but most people seldom notice it.

Fourth, be aware that the latest 240Hz displays don’t offer any real picture-quality performance improvements, and are just a marketing gimmick taken to an absurd level.
Hate to say it, but you might want to take that TV back and get the original one that you wanted to get.

Well i've seen both in the store, side by side...unless the store somehow made the original one blurry during movements and "purposely" made the original one worst, then I was suckered.

But based on the eye test, ive made the right decision so far, cuz it looks great in my house! lol
