Nope, not preditable at all but in the end Orioles will either just win 1 game or get swept in the playoffs.
Same with Washington and Oakland.
Too bad really because they have been playing great.
Raise your hand if you predicted that at the beginning of the season.

They've got a 4-game series coming up with the Yanks on Friday. Gonna be some good .
I bet a lot of people said that about the Cards last year too.
Amazing how baseball really just comes down to who's hot at the right time.
Yup.
The O's next 3 series are against the Yanks, Rays, and A's. They make it through those games and these nuccas just might be for real. More importantly, if they hold onto the East then they dodge that 1-game playoff bull .
Baltimore and Oakland maybe, but Washington is legit, tbh.....
Look at Orioles on paper and you wouldn't expect it but they are playing great. Death to the devil yankees
Orioles have been the luckiest team in baseball. They're record in one run games and extra inning games are insanely good which is more luck than anything else. If the Cards make the playoffs, they will make a deep run. They're the opposite of the Orioles. They're unlucky in one run and extra inning games.
Yeah, but at what point does it stop being luck and start just being that the Orioles are good at winning 1-run games? They've kept it up all year, so I'm hesitant to call it a fluke, tbh....
Truth, the cards have a pitiful record in close games. It's frustrating
at one time they won 13 straight one run games
I do not know if that streak is over yet
Its usually a fluke. Most teams are around .500 in one run games or extra inning games. The Orioles are a huge exception. Why? Who knows, but most of the time its just being fortunate.
It's good to see one of the great franchises of the past at least be relevant again in September. All the better that both the Orioles and the Pirates are doing it in the same year. And better still that they've done it prudently and patiently after making a lot of really stupid decisions for a very long time. It would truly be a baseball renaissance year if the Royals had managed to get it together -- having pennant races with Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and Kansas City would be like reliving 1979 without disco and leisure suits.
Throw in the A's and it's been a pretty cool season to watch for fans of Charm City and the Steel City. All three teams have done it with a microcosm of the spending spree that has indoctrined the Yanks, Angels, Dodgers, Red Sox, and Rangers. That's what appealed to me--the ability to have teams that are usually moribund losers are now contending in a mad dash to the second season.
Kinda sad, but I'm basically from Baltimore and never knew it was referred to as Charm City. I guess crabcakes, heroin, and murder are charming.
Sons I'm watching the Yankees and Orioles game and holy The Orioles are chilaking the Yankees real bad.
Something doesn't seem right with the Orioles hitters. They're hitting home runs on command.
6 in one and they are making it look effortlessly.
And if not by some good plays by granderson they would have 2 extra homeruns. Wow
I think that whole team needs to be check for PEDs.
Well, L.A. is the City of Angels and it isn't really full of angels unless you count the fake plastic botox type. Then, well, you've got a city full of 'em. Crabcakes are charming...Heroin is too until the comedown for sure.
Team Payroll
New York Yankees $ 197,962,289
Baltimore Orioles $ 81,428,999
Why don't the Yankees win every year with that pay roll
Because its tough to win it any given year let alone every year?
You can spend whatever money you want, that's not going to guarantee you .
Just look at the Red Sox. They have the second highest pay roll in Baseball and they haven't even smell the playoffs 2 years running.
lousy excuse
the yankees are in deep
their average age is 32.8
they want to get below the luxury tax by 2014 189 million
they are old they gave up their young catcher this offseason.
swisher is a fa what are they going to do with him?
cano?
their closer this year?
looks like boston is going to rebuild will the yankees?
it would be a bad pr move bad trading some of those players for top notch prospects and get some youth might be a good idea
Older people take longer to heal and are more injury prone to
and slower on the bases and field
cc is 7-1 on road today loss again orioles
tonight he left trailing 5-2
Looks like even the umpires are on the Orioles bandwagon.
Calling tex out when the ball is like 2 feet away away from the first baseman. lol
Baseball has become quite the joke.
No excuse for the lack of replay on plays like that. An embarrassment.
