I think he needs to get back into rhythm after missing a bunch of time. I think once we play that string of games at home he will get back into rhythm.
He has looked awful, offensively, since his return..his fluency and quick decision making has seemingly faded..he's having trouble in the post, even against poor defensive players like David Lee and Carl Landry..he has reverted to slow decision making in the post, compounded by robotic post moves..
Thankfully, his defense still looks great..
Is this a rhythmic concern?..is this age catching up/Duncan spoiling us with unrealistic expectations based on the unexpected 1st half of the season performance?..is it his knees?..
What should we expect from Duncan going forward?..

I think he is getting bored of the regular season already. I would think he will turn it up in the playoffs and playoff type games. I mean he looked great against the Clips on thursday. I wouldn't be too concerned after all, it is Duncan we are talking about.
If he's still the same in 2 weeks ill worry. Tonight was obviously a night where they were trying to get him a lot of touches in the post to get him back in rhythm, he just couodnt do anything with it...
big elephant in the room tbh... short of Splitter dominating offensively, it's gonna be tough... that's why the defensive improvement is doubly important
It's definitely noticeable but I'd give him a couple more weeks to get his rhythm and confidence back. It's hard to miss those games, especially with an injury scare like he did and then come back seamlessly. Not only does he have to recover physically, but also emotionally to play on his knee like he was before.
I don't think it's a long term concern. His mobility on the defensive end doesn't seem to have been hampered by the injury, so it's only a matter of time until he regains his rhythm and have that translate on the offensive end as well.
The upcoming homestand should do wonders for Timmy.
His post moves have been painful to watch since the All-Star Break, tbh.
hes done this recently, strong start and a less then stellar finish to the regular season but usually come playoff time hes good to go
The guy almost tore his ACL if it weren't for the brace. The fact that he's still able to put points on the board should be valued.
I think everybody's hoping it's just a rhythm issue, the spurs need pre all star break Duncan to go far in the playoffs
Duncan has been in the top 5 in PER all season
Parker with his recent play made the #4 top
if SA can keep 2 guys with top 5 efficiency then their chances are really good compared to other years
theyve had good production from the bench and guys step up in the reg season but they havent had guys who play at an elite level like that in some time and probably never 2 guys in the top 5
that and other factors like improved defense
I'm not worried yet mostly because his D has been really good since his return. When his knee is bothering him, he loses his ability to quick-jump and get those blocks at the rim.
But yeah, like I said elsewhere, I'm waiting for another vintage game from TD before I forget about that knee scare. His D is close but his offense is still lagging behind.
Another reason why I'm not worried is he ended up missing 3+ weeks. For a guy like TD who plays basketball basically year round, that's a long, long time. Factor in his age and it's not surprising that it's taking him a while to shake off the rust.
He started off the season so well, I have to think that it's a rhythm issue right now. I doubt that knee problems or a half a season's worth of aging is to blame.
It's just rust. He'll be fine after a couple more games.
