tl; dr
Breaking it down. Truth Bomb.
1. "He's a centerpiece. He commands double teams. You build around that."
TRUTH: Teams double him cause he's got horrific hands and they are after strips and steals. He's also a terrible passer. There is nothing about his post game that "commands" defenses' attention.
2. "He needs the right coach that knows how to use him. He needs more shots."
TRUTH: He gets tons of touches. His FG attempts are low cause a lot of his touches are TO's or near TO's or are sure layups/dunks but he doesn't get to attempt them because he's sent to the line. So stop it with this 'get him more shots' excuse.
3. "He's the best big man in the game when healthy. The dude shoots 60% from the Field with a bad back, shoulder, blah lblah"
TRUTH: He shoots 60% cause he only takes shots under the hoop. Teams are trying to foul him all the time too. Made Baskets on And 1's count as a shot taken. Missed Baskets when teams foul you don't count as a shot. So every time he gets fouled around the rim and puts a shot up, he gets a free shot at increasing his FG %
4. "He needs help. He needs his teammates to make 3's so teams won't double him"
TRUTH: The dude cannot pass period. Has no court vision. When Dwight kicks it out to you, the pass is telegraphed and defenses can recover. So if I"m a defender, and I know the pass will be poor, a bit off, a bit slow, then I'm going to double the heck out of you.
5."Nash with Dwight Pick and Roll. Unstoppable."
TRUTH: Dwight Howard cannot catch a bounce pass while cutting to the hoop. This is a skill Tiago Splitter and Dajuan Blair are great at. Dwight literally cannot turn, roll off of a pick and catch the ball full steam.
He can't play pick and roll, cannot play pick and pop. Cannot space the floor. Cannot post up. Cannot pass. Has horrific hands. Cannot shoot free throws. This dude has been exposed.

He sucks as a basketball player, but his athleticism makes his help defense and rebounding such a strength in today's, big men defficient NBA, that he's easily worth the max he's gonna get this summer, no doubt.

Dwight's a cool guy. For a month, we like talked on the phone and he was always trying to give me prayers to get me out of porn and give me Bible verses to read. So then, I was going to go visit him when I was in Orlando, but I went over to this other guy's house instead, Chris Kirkpatrick from N'Sync. And then Dwight started calling, and calling, and calling me, because he knew I was with Chris Kirkpatrick, so eventually at 3 in the morning, Chris was like don't answer Dwight's calls. I get a text from Dwight at 3 in the morning - I'm outside Chris's house. I'm like oh my god, what do I do? I was like, I got Dwight here and I got Chris in the other room and I'm talking to them back and forth. So finally I had to just pull Dwight in the bathroom and tell him he needs to go home. I was like I'm really sorry, I really like you, but this isn't the time or place. When I pull him in the bathroom, he pulls his pants down, I was like whooa. Yeah, and so I ran and started screaming...

Yeah Duncan is still the best big man in the league. Dude is amazing.
Dwight has so much potential, but he's got no heart and no desire to get better, and probably never will.
His offensive game has always sucked, that isn't why teams want him.
have to disagree on the "potential". Dude is almost 30 and been in the league 10 years. That's what you gonna get.
