(AP) Gregg Popovich, or as fans like to call him "Pop" is apparantly not the only Spur (Richard Jefferson) looking for a team with a system that fits him better.
"I really miss being able to have 3 or 4 Hall of Famers in their prime on the floor at the same time along with very skilled role players, most current or ex All Stars in their own right. It allowed me to stand up once in a while and signal 4 Dumb and then fold my arms and stare, then wait til they bailed my ineffective strategies out and we'd win anyways. This allowed me to give my sardonic answers in the post game pressers, and a fair number think i was pretty witty. I miss that."

Pops wish list includes of course LeBron James, along with Dwight Howard, Kevin Durant, Kome Bryant, Derrick Rose and others. No word yet on which team plans to assemble these players so they can lure Pop.

"I won't say 'If i don't win with these players I should be fired', because I've already used up that witty line. Or maybe i will." said the crafty head coach of the Spurs.

He's won 4 les, you know.

Really but it's Fabbs so what do you expect?

If he had his wish Pop would have never coached here or left ASAP and the Spurs would have fewer rings but they would be playing BB the way Fabbs believes is the right way.

he should go coach the new dynasty about to be born in New Jersey: Lebron, Bosh, Lopez, Jianlian, Harris, whoever their top 3 pick is... should be enough talent for Pop, can you say 5-peat?

Pop would never admit to being the cause of failure. His ego will not allow for it.

Would be funnier if it was anybody but Fabbs ing about Pop. No points for shock value.

Would be more believable if it were spelled and punctuated properly. I don't think the AP has sunk this far yet.

He had a disabled s of David Robinson for a good part of his time with pop, certainly not DR in his prime.

He had manu who put up 2-3 all-star level regular seasons, but his performance in the NBA alone is very likely NOT HOF level; he gets it because of his total work.

Parker very clearly is not HOF.

Your pop hate is tired and useless. The VAST MAJORITY of coaches in the league are not as good as Pop.

Most fans complain about their coach. Most think they make mistakes and that they should be fired. Many get fired. Most do not stick around that long.

But obviously, the armchair coaches could have made the easy, right call. That is why it is such an easy job. They spend most of the regular season lounging out, going to parties. It makes sense anyone could do it.

This is not about Pop in particular. It is just that you could be talking about almost any team and the same type of complaints are made, that the coach is only successful because they had talent. IF that is the case, there are NO good coaches, just lucky ones who happen to have the best players on their teams.

I've never thought Popovich was a good in-game coach, or that his subs utions were that effective overall.

Most of all, his gruff manner and doghouse effect have harmed or stunted the growth of several players. This wouldn't be as glaring a problem if Pop weren't in the front office as well, because all those guys in the doghouse or buried at he end of the bench...he and RC brought to the Spurs.

Pop's ego will not allow him to take the blame for anything - ever. Yet, he'll call his players dogs, and bury certain guys.

Pop is very fortunate to have had Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili. Period. And I'll give him credit for drafting Manu and TP an George Hill.

But bringing RJ in and then either screwing up his confidence or trying to make him something he's not was so costly a move that most guys in his position would be fired. For whatever reason, Peter Holt has extreme confidence in Pop. In my opinion, the guys need to hear another voice.

We might have overperformed against the Mavs, but our performance against Phoenix was worse than Cleveland's was against Boston. Cleveland won two games. We got swept. Mike Brown will be fired. But Pop will sit in the same seat, scowling and trying to figure out how to throw Tim to the wolves with four little guys...yet again.

    * I don't know if Parker will end up being HOF. He's only 27. You don't know that he will not. Ditto Bob Horry. Even if these two are not, if you do not see their talent, blow off.
