While not the classic looker she had a sexiness about her unlike anyone else in her era. The Bogey and Bacall movies, classics.
She is the only woman I've ever seen where a cig looks good hanging out of her mouth.

As much as I've studied and love classic film from the 40's, I've never gotten real big into Bogey-Bacall. The films are excellent but I've just always found Bogey a bit dorky for the sultry Bacall----but I suppose those differences is what makes their chemistry. I do love Bacall with Marilyn Monroe in How To Marry A Millionaire and then with Gregory Peck in Designing Woman. But probably my favorite Lauren Bacall role was as Bond in The Shootist, which also happens to be my favorite John Wayne film.
