I was given a betta fish today, do you want it?
I'm looking for info on Russian Desert Tortoises. I've got the food/caring stuff but I'd like to know more. I've had him for 6 months, he seems smart. Anyone experienced with tortoises? Can you play with them? Train them? He runs free during the day, sleeps in his cage at night. He knows the layout of the house, where his heat is, where the doors are (I take him out for sun). Any info would be appreciated. I've never met anyone that has one.

Thanks. I'll pass. I'm still waiting for 2 goldfish to die!
And btw, your pet tortoise sounds so cute. What'd you name him?
I bet its Rocket or speedy
"Pokey" He's my 12 year olds, but like every animal in the house I take care of him. He has surprised me, I never would have known they have personality.
we used to have a Red-Ear Slider
They go in water, don't they? Was he smart? Could you interact with him?
(I know. I need a life. But this little guy has gotten to me. I want to know more about him.)
I've always had turtles as pets. They don't do much.
Maybe there's a difference between turtles and tortoises. He doesn't go in water, he's able to wander around the house all day. And it seems to me that he has a brain. I just don't know how to interact with him. Or if it's even possible.
I think I had a turtle head early this morning.
Thanks for the sites. I've seen them, lots of care and feeding but I'm not finding anything about interaction. I'm starting to think he's just going to be a cute thing that runs around my floors and basks in the sun. Which is fine, but if he could have more fun I'd like to help him.
He's not more than six inches, we think he's just 2 years old.
I had a tortoise...I named him Jaws.
Find a hare and have them race.
