Also attack Draymond and try to get him into early foul trouble aswell.
Ive religiously watched GSW this year and while their record is indicative of their actual play ( yes, they are that good), theres multiple things you can do to exploit some weakness. Ice ranked them based on how poor GSW has played with these four.
1. Festuz Ezzeli PnP or PnR defense with Shaun livingston and Leonardo Barbosa - By far the warriors weakest link defensively in a halfcourt setting. Its probably one of the worst PnR or Pop duos in the league. 90% of the time ezeli is doing a poor job of containing the roll and he gives away the pop like pancakes. His inability to defend the PnR and Pop is compunded by the fact that Livingston and Barbosa are poor on ball defenders..the former is slow and the latter have poor footwork. You can also generate great movement by attacking this matchup. Every GSW loss this year took advantage of this.
Mills-Ginobili-Parker needs to be on a constant attack mode when these guys are playing together.
2. Harrison Barnes post defense is laughable - From a few of the close games and the loss in detroit every team that had a SF that can back down murdered Barnes. It allowed for ball movement since after a fre makes GSW is left scrambling defensively. Stan Van Gunday main philosophy to start the game was attacking Barnes. Its crazy, but its one of the main reasons why Detroit punked GSW. Constantly attacking the weak SF post and generating movement there by forcing help.
3. The whole defense gives up crazy amount of midrange shots! The spurs and the players should know this. Practice your damn midrange shots.
4. Attack Curry - offense and defense is always interconnected. Your effort defensively will carry on the other side of the court. Either pist him up or run him to the ground. MIL feasted on curry in two of their games.
Its important for the starters to realize 2 to 4 since that could be their saving grace. They have been porus to start 1st quarters.
Also attack Draymond and try to get him into early foul trouble aswell.
I agree with these. Well done.![]()
Stick to bashing Parker. It's the only thing you good at.
Stick to sucking , it's the only thing you're good at.
run Curry through a lot of screens
And we have the 2nd best SF in the league but some people here want him parking in the corner. What a waste of Kawhi's strengths...
Getting Draymond in foul trouble early and often is my favorite idea
LMA should be well-suited to do this.
He doesn't cup...
That's nice, but you can't count on something like that. It's like saying, "make all your baskets". Taking advantage of a mismatch on him is fine, but those are hard to come by. He's one of the top five defenders in the league for a reason. There are a lot of other weaknesses to go after if you're gameplanning.
You cant form a base gameplan that targets the top 5 defender in the world that's laughably stupid and ignorant.
I dont expect San Antonio or Golden state to do any major gameplanning in the regular season. They will exploit some obvous weakness like 3-4, but more than likely they are going to refrain from abusing Livingston-Ezeli
Spurs are not even watching film of gs
Maybe.
I dont really expect the spurs to gameplan, tbh.
Just posted some things they can probably exploit on the fly. I soubt the spurs would be dumb enough to show their cards.
to quote my boy Silver&Black..
"My "
That they only went to Kawhi in the post against Kobe once last night is a travesty.
abuse inside offense when they go small, try to force them to match up and not the contrary. If they have to stay big you stand a chance.
I have neither engaged nor contemplated the act of sucking . However, you seem to have a healthy obsession with it. And why are you in a hurry to defend your friend?
