Favorite play of the game. I don’t think he had even touched the ball once at that point, just basically told to stand in the corner. But he didn’t pout, and when Pop yelled at him he took it and, I think, literally gave a thumbs up. I feel like these are rites of passage for Pop, and though Luka didn’t overwhelm, he mostly stayed engaged. I’ll take this as a quiet positive.
Pop benched him the rest of the game when Luka got a foul immediately after this play.

I said it in another thread, but the way they're using Luka on offense (kinda like they used Bertans) is creating spacing and his swtichability on defense, means he's already impactful even if the stats don't show it and even if he's making mistakes. I'd love to see Pop give him extended time for 3 or 4 games just to let him develip chemistry with the guards. But I think that's probably next year's agenda item.
The Luka sniffers are worse than the Pop sniffers. A thread because he dunked?

Yeah, that is why I am so pissed at Pop no way should this kid not be getting more minutes he is playing great D which was what people thought he would not be able to do. With only 17 games left I am hoping that he gets more burn to get him involved and to help with his confidence in being able to play in the NBA and be able to get minutes under Pop -

The ONLY reason he even played last game is because gay was out.
Pop is not giving him more minutes this season nor any other youngster, and will continue to ride Demar/Gay and Mills.
All the Luka love is unwarranted. I'm no Popovich sniffer but Luka needs to show a of a lot more to get solid minutes. I'm sure the coaching staff would like to use him but he needs to start hitting some outside shots and quit committing stupid fouls.
Hopefully we get to see more of him.
I have noticed he tuckers out in a hurry when he's on the court. He usually goes to the bench looking like he just ran a marathon.
