The Jetsuns (they ing go so hard)
The Spazmatics....
J/K
The Sone likes them..
Southern Gun Culture
Cruiserweight
Fozlur, Southern Gun Culture, and Cruiserweight
I haven't paid attention to the scene in like 2 years but when I did, these were the ones that rocked hard.
BRAVE NEW WORLD!!!!!
Fozlur uses old school Moog synthesizers in with trippy sounding electric guitars and a cool singer
Cruiserweight features a really hot ass frontwoman
and SGC have a song called brave new world
Cruiserweight is pretty awesome.
Mookie used to sing Cautionary Tale and Dearest Drew so much it was so annoying.
Southern Gun Culture, son.
in BAD!!!
Manny what's a good album to check out if you've never heard any spoon?
They aren't around anymore... but the Spacemonkeys used to rock it pretty hard.
Jack Saunders
Shake Russell
They're not my favorite but I know them. They are really good friends with my uncle and have played at his house many of times.
Wrong location. Spacemokeys would be under I35 coorider bands.
CBF, check out Gimmie Fiction or Kill The Moonlight.
Alright I will. What kinda music is it?
What the Shins would be if the Shins could rock and were way better.
Never heard of 'em.
Back in the day .. before I became i'll. I did an all nighter there in the SxSW with the armband thing.... it was uber. Lot of music. We must of hit 20-30 clubs..
That doesn't sound conservative
Don't belive stereotypes.
EDIT: Oh btw.. don't EVER ever.. drink a "Hand grenade" in Austin..

If I could afford the armband, I'd do that every year. You can meet a lot of people and make some pretty good lists of people you would like to know in the idustry.
That being said, when I went to SXSW last year, I almost had to kill some industry ers near me who wouldn't stfu when John Butler was playing. And then Aimee Mann had to come on stage and suck.
Leave it to the Dylan to save the show.
Troy Dillinger - friend of mine, and he's pretty damn good. Very popular in Austin.

Back when I was in college, Little Sister (had to change their name to Sister 7) was bad ass.
A friend of mine hooked me up with some MP3's of Echoset a while back and they've got a good sound.
This is the best austin band
