Does he read ST?
Well, he's been by far the team's biggest disppointment even after you apply a bigotry of low expectation approach vis-a-vis him.....Here he is getting a mention in Lowe weekly column for all wrong reasons..

The Spurs bench is doing its usual thing, in part because Gregg Popovich is smart about keeping a starter out there with them, but it feels a little rickety this time around. How many of these guys beyond Manu Ginobili and Patty Mills do you trust -- and how many will Popovich trust -- when the games really matter?
A lot of this queasy feeling comes down to Slo-Mo just not happening yet. Kyle Anderson still can't shoot, he never gets to the line, and he's too sluggish off the bounce to scoot by anyone -- and let his passing skills sing. The Spurs need someone off the bench to pop, and they were hoping it would be Anderson. Jonathon Simmons has passed him in the rotation, but Simmons has fallen back to Earth after his out-of-body experience against Golden State in the opener.
On bad Pau Gasol nights, San Antonio feels like it might have only one reliable big man in LaMarcus Aldridge. The natural pivot would be to go small, with Kawhi Leonard bumping up to power forward. But you need extra wing depth to do that over extended minutes, and the Spurs may not have quite enough against the very best teams.

Probably stole it from ST, tbh. All of these guys read forums if they dobt have enough time to watch boring spurs games.
It's a good thing that SAG and I were overstating how much the Spurs were depending on him against the Warriors...
I don't know, Lowe is notorious for watching as many NBA games as possible. I know he PVR's a lot of the games to watch the next morning.
He's 100% on point about the Spurs bench. Very little depth this year, can't afford to be resting players this often. Rest them when it is 4 games in 5 nights or in April when you have a cushion.

His comment about the big situation is a little head scratching (and the depth behind Manu and Patty) since Lee and Dedmon have been great this season.
It amazes me that some posters just want to cut Kyle. I think he has trade value; I just don't believe anybody knows what that value might be. It might be (either alone or in a package) for an expiring contract that a team knows it cannot re-sign. It might be for a player made expendable after 12/15. It might be for draft pick...

It's impossible to cover all the teams in the NBA and single team beat reporting is biased to make the team look good. I don't take anyone in the media too serious.
I think Pop is trying to predict when you're going to make game threads. I hope he doesn't even let the team get on in plane whenever I see one of yours show up on the main page.

I think think that he, like I, thought the big rotation would be:
Aldridge, Anderson, Bertans
Gasol, Dedmon, Lee
That depth looks fine if Anderson plays like a rotation guy.
But with it being:
Aldridge, Lee
Gasol,
with injured Dedmon, green Bertans and bad Anderson, it's a lot less comfortable.

As some of us said during the off-season, regardless of whether you dislike Anderson or not(most here do), the Spurs need him to develop into a legit rotation player..unfortunately, it doesn't appear that he's going to take a leap, this season, which is a serious hit to a bench that is lacking in rotation talent..
This team is just a fringe contender, it needs all the help it can get to elevate it to the top tier, which is probably unlikely, tbh..
If they can get a box of Pop Tarts, I say make the deal.
Yeah the bench bigs are far from the problem, it's Softridge not holding his own that has been the issue.
I'm far far more worried about the ty guard play, than I am about our bigs.
Simmons is a legitimate rotation player. He won't play like he did against GS every game but what bench player does? The staff needs to give up on the Fathead experiment and invest all those resources on Simmons, tbh.
Simmons brings that offense that was missing last years playoffs off the bench. We don't need fathead to make it worse.
Anderson has infected Simmons and Bertans with his "pass up open threes" disease. It may be too late
Lowe is obviously right about Anderson and the lack of reliable wing depth, but if you didn't follow the NBA outside of reading and listening to him, you'd think the Spurs were one of, if not the worst team in the league.
I know it's been fashionable in recent years to criticize old school players like Lee, but he's been solid and there's no real reason not to trust him and to a lesser extent Dedmon, in the roles they're in.
The wing depth is a different story and they need to look to address it, if they're serious about attempting to legitimately contend for the championship.

Anderson is one of those guy who really shouldn't have declared early for the draft. At the very least, he would have benefitted a LOT from a third year in college. But he didn't - so we've been adjusting for the fact that he's young and still finding his way in the NBA. This is his pivot year. The year he should be taking the next step up and showing that he's going to be a solid, regular contributor. Whatever else you say about him, that's how he has to be judged. Even his big defenders here can't say that he looks significantly better than he did this time last year.
The biggest thing, to me, is that nobody can tell you what position he plays. There is a thread talking about his DRPM ranking among shooting guards. Articles talking about him being a small forward. And he's still probably best suited to playing a stretch-4... IF he just gets stronger and improves his 3P shooting consistency. People talk about his defense, but I keep waiting for someone to reveal what kind of player he defends the best. He's still a tweener, in a world of specialists, and he gets beaten too many different ways - without being able to return the favor.
