Pistons to sign Campbell

Team spokesman Matt Dobek says the Pistons will hold a news conference tomorrow to announce the signing of a free agent. But he won't confirm or deny a report on the "Detroit News" Web site that Campbell has been signed.
The seven-foot, 280-pound Campbell has played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Seattle and New Orleans during his 13-year N-B-A career.
He averaged six-point-one points and three-point-two rebounds per game, playing for both the SuperSonics and Hornets last season.

I think the game has passed Campbell by.
I remember the rumours aroung last year that something might go down between us and Elden.![]()
this might a move to mentor their rising stars
I think its a good move by Detroit, they needed someone who could rebound besides Wallace.
The only rumor last year with Campbell to SA was one that had SSmith going to New Orleans. Spurs were interested because it might give them another big body for the playoffs. On SSmith's end he was interested in getting on another club and showing what he could do before his contract ended this summer. I think the problem was that the SSmith's salary was large enough that the Spurs would've had to take back more than just Campbell...and the Hornets didn't have any players with contracts that were small and ended this summer.
