So I was boiling some eggs today and a thought popped into my head.

Is it possible to deep fry a whole egg?

I am afraid to even try this to figure it out. I am thinking either the egg would cook properly or it would explode all over the cooking area, sending hot grease everywhere.

It should work let it sit at room temp for five min first. It won't blow up that's for sure.

Vegetarians are statistically less likely to smoke, drink, perform high risk activities, work in stress-filled jobs, have children, or join the military.

yes, you can deep fry an egg where it is floating in oil. When i was in the uk that is how they cooked them. they didn't just put a little oil to prevent sticking. they had 1-2 inches of oil! tasted pretty much the same and we'd make them. the outside was a little crisper though.
