So I was boiling some eggs today and a thought popped into my head.
Is it possible to deep fry a whole egg?
I am afraid to even try this to figure it out. I am thinking either the egg would cook properly or it would explode all over the cooking area, sending hot grease everywhere.

yes, you can deep fry an egg where it is floating in oil. When i was in the uk that is how they cooked them. they didn't just put a little oil to prevent sticking. they had 1-2 inches of oil! tasted pretty much the same and we'd make them. the outside was a little crisper though.
Not a bad idea, either.
