Contact the sone... he'll give you the 411..
Okay, I know we have all these experts on laptops.
I see all kinds advertised for some really good prices and
yeah, I would like one. Any suggestions?
Mostly I am confused about the CPU's. AMD dual core,
Intel, all that stuff. I don't want to go for the buy for
XXXX bucks and get a mail in refund. I want the
rebate up front.

What is your budget, and what are you going to be using it for? Light gaming, productivity, email/internet?
you got a sweet deal!! i still wish i had gotten that one...we're down to the last one of that kind...im eyeing the price.

I will buy the software from you for 50.00 dollars. The screen alone sells for 87 dollars. Buy it now!
That's an old in laptop ...
No gaming, just surfing, email. The only reason I am
interested is I see all these teaser prices, some have
1gb RAM, which I understand is the minimum you need
to run Vista with any pep. I am not a gamer. Do play
some cards online, but that doesn't require any kind of
speed, like gaming.
I recently had a wireless router put in (U-verse) which
give me capability to use one from about anywhere in the
house or patio, which is very nice. My daughter uses her
laptop when she is here and I get a little jealous.
And asking some of the salesmen is something like asking
a used car salesman is this car a good one.....![]()
I saw, quick glance, no in depth look, a laptop at
Wal-Mart the other day in the 300 dollars range.
394 I think it was. But again, I didn't really look at it,
was passing through the computer section and in a
hurry and just glanced at it. It was under lock and key
and trying to get a salesperson in Wal-Mart is somewhat
of a task, sometimes.
Anyhow, I know we have a lot of tech savy people on the
forum I thought maybe they had looked at some of these
teaser laptops and could give me some pointers.
Hey you want information ask someone who knows. I
am not a computer expert by any means. Like my
mex-tex, I know just enough about them to get myself into trouble.

xrayzebra after you spend over 600.00 dollars and wait 2 years for your 200.00 dollar rebate you may never get? Bring your new shiny duel core Vista piece of to my place and let my 2006 189.00 dollar dell go head to head with your new toy. We will see what your laptop can do that mine can't. And we will post the results here in the forum so others may see for themselves.

you really don't know much about computers do you? you can't just pop in a new processor. every model of laptop will take about 5 +/- different speeds of the SAME CPU and there's not gonna be much difference between them....but don't expect to buy something with a PIII and pop in a p4, centrino, M or DUAL core cpu in it. you're extremely limited with what you can put in it.
My Components $729.....

And where do you find one of these "good DELL's for
75 bucks and how hard is it to replace the cpu and
memory. And wouldn't you have to flash the BIOS again
to match the new CPU. I am not sure I could do all these
little operations....

Come by my place and lets see who can take apart a notebook down to the base plate and put it back together and it boots up. Bring at least 50.00 dollars cash so It will be worth my time. I will post the video showing your time against mine. If your faster or better? I will allow you to insult me from this point on.
Thank you for that update. after 4 years of doing this I think I can figure that out.But thanks anyway.you can't just pop in a new processor. every model of laptop will take about 5 +/- different speeds
Here goes some horn tooting......looks like a copy and paste.
Maybe you need to re-read where this person only surfs and reads emails. thus why I am trying to save him some money. hopefully he can see that through all your insults. My Components $729.....

Crazyone bought a DELL Inspiron from mouse for 135.00 dollars and he is very happy. But if you have the money, go with something new so you can get all the perks and support.
Not all of us have that kind of cash like Blizz has so we do what we have to in order to get by.
This guy needs to post more!

If all you're doing is posting here, reading Drudge and planning third world sex tours, just pick up one of the cheap Acers at the big box stores when they go on sale. If you want to keep it from being too slow get one with a dual core processor and install at least 1 GB of RAM.
I have seen Blizz in action. Steve Perry get ready to get Owned!
