    I'm glad they claimed it. I was wondering who the hypothetical woulda-shoulda-coulda-been champions were going to be for 2006.

    2005-06 Dallas Mavericks (The league is rigged! WAAAAAA!!!!!)
    2004-05 Phoenix Suns (we almost beat the Spurs 1-4!)
    2003-04 Minnesota Timberwolves (Cassell got hurt! It doesn't count!)
    2002-03 Sacramento Kings/Dallas Mavericks co-champs (Webber/Dirk got hurt! It doesn't count!)
    2001-02 Sacramento Kings (The league is rigged! WAAAAAA!!!!!)
    2000-01 San Antonio Spurs (Derek Anderson got hurt! It doesn't count!)
    1999-00 San Antonio Spurs (Tim Duncan got hurt! It doesn't count!)
    1998-99 Utah Jazz (In an 82-game season, we woulda won!! WAAAAAA!!!!!)

    I am ashamed to admit that the Spurs are the only team on that list to have their fans go all puss following a championship.

    Which is something the Mavs still do not have.
