Yeah, I'd say the more common denominator in those situations has been that the team that has dealt Eddie has, coincidentally, had Shaq on the roster.
Still, an interesting fact.
The team that traded him has won the le the next season 2 out of 3 times

They should trade him anyway. Even Charlotte won a playoff series when they traded Jones.

2003 Spurs sweep Memphis Spurs lose West Semis
2004 Suns sweep Memphis Suns lose West Finals
2005 Mavs sweep Memphis Mavs lose NBA Finals
2006....see a pattern

Interesting as well. I guess the moral of this story is, if you want to win a playoff series trade eddie jones, and if you want to go far in the playoffs and perhaps win it all. Don't sweep the Grizzles.
No, that's not the pattern. Whoever plays Memphis next year will be NBA Champions
If the Griz trade Eddie, next year will be one of those irresistable force vs. immovable object deals.
