Is this Ace?
One of my birthday gifts from LJ is that I'm getting a second dog.
If you don't know the history of my first dog (Deuce AKA Looter) he was a Hurricane Katrina rescued dog that we adopted. He's a black lab about 2 years old. He's super cool but he's very needy. For example, when he's sitting in the room with us, if one of us gets up and leaves, he cries til we come back. Even though the other of us is still next to him. He also has some sort of panic attack when we leave the house. He won't eat or drink the whole time we are gone and just paces around frantically crying. Needless to say, he has some abandonment issues.
Anyway, we are adding a second dog - a male chocolate lab who is 1 year and 3 months old. He belongs to an older lady who doesn't have time for him. So we are going to go pick him up in about an hour.

How do you go on vacation then? i mean thats sad... have you tried anything to get him to be normal...? someone needs a shrink
labs are super cool dogs. our family dog while growing up was a chocolate lab, one of the best dogs i ever had. would love to see pics when you can post em.
We have not gone on vacation since we've had him. But when we do, we will have someone who he knows stay here.
He's getting a little better as time goes on but still panics a lot. We both work from home, so he hangs with us everyday.
He's also very afraid of water. He doesn't like you to turn on the sink if he's near it or shake a bottle of water around him.
Are you going to name him "Finder"?
He has a name already. But I'll see if it goes with him or he needs a new one.

Here's some preliminary pictures of the new dog laying outside on our deck.
He and Deuce met and seemed to like each other. But LJ's not home, so I don't have them together right now because I don't want to handle it if they start fighting or something. So he's outside and Deuce is inside.
I'll post more later tonight of him and Deuce together.
He's 1 year and 3 months old. He has green/yellow eyes. His name is Cooper, but I will probably change it.

Awwww... look at that face! Puppy!
He's a lot bigger than Deuce. I think Deuce weighs 60 and this one weighs 80.

nice looking dog. he should provide your other dog with companionship and hopefully improve his being so needy and dependant on you over time.

I'm not sure. He doesn't really answer to Cooper, so I don't think it matters if we change it. I have to hang out with him and see what's a good name for him. Right now he's just napping.
