    • Miles update: Former KU point guard Aaron Miles spent the past several days working out with the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs.

The 6-1 Miles, who averaged 10.1 points and 6.6 assists per game in 27 games for the Fort Worth Flyers after playing 19 games with the NBA’s Golden State Warriors last season, will work out with the Portland Trail Blazers and Chicago Bulls in coming weeks.

Seattle is also in the mix for Miles, meaning the 2005 KU graduate could join Kirk Hinrich and Nick Collison in the Chicago-Seattle NBA exhibition on Oct. 15 at Allen Fieldhouse.

“Aaron is close now,” his agent, Chris Emens, said of making an NBA roster. “In addition to being a good player, he brings so many intangibles that help a team. He turned down a ridiculous amount of money (overseas). There have been a lot overseas signings this year, but if you are close, go for it,” Emens added.

After going undrafted in 2005, Miles worked out for teams during the summer and, after garnering an invitation to Warriors’ camp, made the cut, though he was released early in the season.

“This is how he played his way into the league, going in and giving exposure to teams and coaches. They saw him play good basketball as well as what a good kid he is,” Emens said.

Beno and Rasho traded during the same summer.

But you're right, this workout can be linked wiht a Beno trade :
Miles seems to be too good to be be a 4th PG who is only signed for the training camp and who is always waived like at the end of it the guy from Alaska last year. Blazers, Bulls and Sonics don't have 3 PGs : Miles will have workouts with them to be their 3rd PG. So, maybe Spurs work on some trades including Beno. If Spurs trade Beno and don't get a PG back, Vaughn+Miles will be quite weak to backup Parker and we have seen the result in 2004 with Jason Hart.

It's just a workout. Gotta have guys in training camp or pencilled in for injury replacements.

Nice to see they got my memo though....

Well, at least they play in Euroleague and he'll feed Ian well. Might have been nicer had he moved to a better domestic league or stayed in the states as he would be one of the very first players called up this season. His situation was not unlike that of Noel Felix -- tough choices -- but I can't blame either for getting the guranteed payday.

Now Hiram Fuller is rumored to be joining Pau -- that might eat into some of Ian's minutes.

Pau has been really bad since the start of the french league ( 1W, 4L) and they have decided that they need a better PG and a better C.

They have waived John Gilchrist (lack of PGs skills) and signed Aaron Miles.

They will sign a C. Mahinmi who hasn't been able to be a good starting C (foul trouble, lack of weight..) will be the backup C. They have made an offer to Hiram Fuller but they are too looking at other players because Fuller is still under contract with Utah. Last rumor is that they will sign an euro center.
