Synopsis: Chicago trades Garcia for 2 minor leagures. There GM calls it 'end of an era'.

    What a joke.

First of all it's not an 'era' if you're good for like 3 years and happen to win a World Series in one of them. Second of all, if you're 'era' relied on Freddy ing Garcia then it was a pretty ty era.

They might be trading Garland also, but that is ESPN Message Board fodder and not to be believed at all.

Freddy Garcia is a pretty good pitcher.

Won the clinching game against Houston did he not?

Id take him right now, over a guy like Miguel Batista

Didn't the scrubbies have the best pitching staff in the history of baseball in 2004 coming off the 'almost to the world series', with woods, prior, maddox, clement and zambrano?

Yeah, so how'd that work out for them?

I could be wrong...but I don't think Maddox was on that squad.

There's a difference between being "pretty good" and saying its an 'end of a dynasty'.

I mean Steve Kerr was pretty good. He helped us clinch. But when we lost him, you didn't see Pop on ESPN looking like he was about to shed a tear for the Spurs legacy.
