What do you guys think?
Good point but what if they were to win it this year?
To me, a lot goes into a dynasty...and multiple undisputed national championships is part. USC is a damned good team, yes, but whether or not they should be granted "dynasty" status should be determined by actually winning the damned thing more than twice. 5 years down the road, after 3 USC National Champions during the span, we very well may call them a "dynasty" - but not yet.
True That
IF...if they get past ucla, then they are a dynasty. thats 3 straight BCS le games and if they win, 3 championships in 4 years. even if they lose they are still a dynasty....to short change SC here is ludicrous.
To discount the fact that their first was split is also ludicrous and for some reason no ing sc fan will ever step up and admit it
you hear me call out my team and my teams players constantly
i have yet to hear an sc fan admit that they only have one undisputed le and even though they're going for 5 in a row, its still 1 undisputed so far.
the GREATEST TEAM IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL HISTORY did not even win a national le so i guess USC greatness = 1 le so far
if they win this year, they are the closest thing to a dynasty we have seen in a while but thats liek saying the Spurs are a dynasty in 2005 when we really werent.
1. i never said they did not share the le with LSU
2. this is CFB, a sport that changes drastically every year
3. whether you like it or not, the dynasty talk will emerge if USC beats ucla....they don't even have to win the le this year...what they will have done is enough
4. ...and they will beat tosu, IF they get past ucla
Theres no doubt what they are about to accomplish is ridiculously impressive
i wish ut was that consistent, 5 straight conference les is amazing
But you're not a dynasty.
i'm curious...what does SC have to do, in your opinion, to be a dynasty?
Good Feedback Thanks
Did people with common sense call the Buffalo Bills a dynasty when they made all those Super Bowls..................and lost?
Great to go to the big game, but if you lose you very well could look like you didn't deserve to go.
Sorta like what may happen when a certain team from Ohio blowouts the comp this yr, whoever that comp is.
What is the saying about a 1st place loser?
win 2 or more undisputed les in a row
So did USC look like they did not deserve to go last year? Last years game was a clash of the ans and the best team won that night. USC might not yet be a DYNASTY but it's by far the best College Football Program this Decade.
easily. and my 2-cents:
1. if USC goes to the le game and loses, thats 2 les in 4 years and 3 straight championship games = dynasty
2. if USC goes to le game and wins, thats 3 les in 4 years and 3 straight championship games = dynasty
...i can understand disagreement with #1, i really can. but, if anybody thinks USC is not a dynasty if they beat tosu this year in the le game (if they get there), needs their head examined. cause thats 3 les in 4 years with a slew of other accomplishments.
this show of semi-modesty i don't want to jinx my team is disgusting. if you claim they can beat ohio state just go ahead and say they will smoke UCLA.![]()
i, unlike t.u. fan....does not overlook any opponent. especially a rival. ucla could very easily beat us today, and i am being serious...i am not trying to be modest. i, along with all USC fans and the team, would be crushed if we did not win today. i never take anything for granted...
i didn't overlook any of the teams on UT's sched or take anything for granted, unfortunately the players begged to differ. half steppin sucks. it was only a matter of time before UT had some hard losses with some of the wins they pulled out of their asses. creaky game plans and talent only get you so far.![]()
maybe you didn't overlook anyone...but plenty of your brethren did. i have been hearing about it all year, especially from the 20+ friends i have from high school that went to t.u..
....either way, this game does make me nervous and i would be surprised if SC covers....surprised!
i made a conscious effort to remain a bit distant from my favorite teams after 05 - the spurs making me sweat it out the whole playoffs and the stros run to the series drained me. i hope the SC/UCLA game is good, i would rather not watch another blowout.
IMHO, it is just a matter of opinion. Going to the BCS championship game doesn't make you a dynasty, IMHO.
I don't think sooooooooooooooooooooo![]()
