Great post. I actually agree with all points.
I get tired of posers saying "mang". What's next? The kids on Laguna Beach saying "sangwhich"?
sometimes i hear things that make me wonder where the im living
worst words and phrases that are bringing this country down
5. mang
as in "man", this is pitiful, its cool if you naturally pronounce man somewhat like that, but its closer to "maine" than "mang", anyone who types this should be ashamed
4. right on
saying "right - on" is alright if youre passionate about something and you separate the words, but people have been putting them together quickly, making them one word, often repeating over and over calmly- "righton, righton, righton"
3. random
to describe situtations, surprising, peoples personality, people
this doesnt make any sense at all and must be stopped
also it when pronounced "Raan-Dom!" it is amazingly stupid sounding
2. chill
not the verb, the adjective
"shes chill, this bar is pretty chill, your dog is chill"
one time rakim said eminem was a great MC, hearing people use chill in this way is much sadder
1. drama
i shouldnt have to explain this one
the use of this word during the last 4 years has risen 1000%, it can also be combined with "random" to create a superphrase that is ruining america
when one uses drama, instead of "trauma" that is hilarious
I actually heard a girl in her early 20s probably, giving a TV news interview because her neighbor had come home to find her husband and kids murdered inside the house, her response "thats a lot of drama for someone to go through"

We received some information at work on a study on teen culture. The study noted that saying something is "cool" is considered lame.
"cool" stuff is now described as "hot."
The sad thing isn't the death of the word "cool"... the sad thing is that it is now part of a stdy on teen culture that we heard about at work.
I'm looking for a home in Canada, I'll let you know if I find anything good.
But none of that is worse than " a".
Do people still say " a"?
Do the kids still say "holla"?
ay mang, right on! people need to stop using these random words that are causin drama. stay chill!
drama queen.
FU Zipspan. I was gonna do what you did
fresh is still the word.
I've decided to make a concerted effort to bring back "rad."
And maybe "tubular," too, though I'm not sure.
on a totally unrelated subject...
the other day i heard a 13 yr old girl say..."I brought punk back!!"
i think we should all thank her.
youth is wasted on the young...
radical>>>>>>>>>>rad
dudical>>>>>>>>>dude
........and whoever mentioned " a", yeah, that's got to be the worst. My brief stint in NorCal actually led me to meet a few that said "hecka".
Don't forget in' and gnarly
I thought "random" was just an Arizona or Tucson things, it pains me to know it is also being used in Texas. Every day I have to hear about the "randomness" of some "so random" person. It makes me wonder if people just dont have any other way to describe anyone
welcome to ten years ago.
Wow! that's, like, soo eclectic!
Her apartment is sooo eclectic!
His musical taste is totally soo eclectic!
Wow! His political philosophy is like, soooo _______!!!
mang chowder
uh, don't get me started.
"x factor"
"the reality is"
"what happens is ..."
"what he said was ... "
"in my mind"
"the idea I have in my mind" (Where TF else?)
"the weather that we have"
the tautalogical, superflous trailing "that ...." clauses, every last ing one of them. It's verbal filler from people with empty heads.
Then there is repulsiveness of the glottal rasp of the American female with nasality, and gays/metrosexuals who try to sound effeminate. Do American wimmen have any idea how ugly is the noise they make?
etc, etc, etc.
oops, you got me started.
and of course, the empty pretentiousness of anybody commenting on the "irony", of anything and everything "ironical", as if they really understood what irony and other subtleties were.
al michaels and "in effect" makes me grind my teeth
oh yeah! apparently everything is ironic nowadays
