It looks like they're not scoring because they're not shooting.

If they're not shooting the ball--is it because they suck, don't know how to shoot the ball, don't have Parker finding them open. don't get open...

You can't knock down a shot if you don't take a shot.

I didn't realize until I examined the table the extent to which the bench is not taking shots.

Are these guys afraid to shoot a ball into a basket?

Outside Tim, Tony, Manu and Brent, the Spurs shots 2-for-19 against the Suns.

Go a step further and take out Elson's 1-for-2 and the rest of the players went 1-for-17.

    Vaughn: Can't score!
    Barry: Inconsistant
Elson: Looks lost on the court

Our bench isn't the best one in the league but it shouldn't be the worse as it is today. Some players (we all know who they are) aren't playing at their level : they can and must play better.

The bench sucks. There are no playmakers on there (Manu doesn't count since he would be starting if we had a bench). There are just a bunch of shooters that can't hit on a regular basis. And if they don't score, they don't contribute in any way (Horry sometimes does though). Sure, they'll sprinkle a few games here and there, but there is no consistency.

Backup PGs aren't threats...wings can't score or rebound...big men are invisible. Bonner may contribute (hopefully) and dammit, play White and Butler...they will not do worse than the current guys...guaranteed.

Our bench isn't scoring because we don't have "scorers", plain and simple. The Spurs have Tim, Tony, and Manu that create contact and get into the paint. Outside of them is a bunch of "shooters" and w/o them performing their function the Spurs have no chance against upper echelon teams.

The unbelievable stats from last night:

    72 of 87 pts from big 3

    82 of 87 pts from big 3 + barry

    6 totals scorers

    5 goose-eggs, to include Bowen (0-5), & Udrih/Oberto (0-3 a piece)

    I'm disgusted....

It's not just the bench. Our starting Center and Small Forward haven't scored in the last two games. And not much before that. We are playing 3 on 5.
