The socket is how many Pins the motherboard has. so if you can cram in a duel processor or anything that has 478 pins then I am sure your ok.
I feel bad for this vato his PC would not boot up and I didn't want to give Algens 25 dollars so they can take 2 minutes to test his processor chip. So we found one on Ebay for 35.00 dollars but when I went to plug it in it still didn't boot up so now I'm thinking he got a CPU that is shot or his Motherboard is shot.
Since Algens charges him 149.00 dollars for the motherboard he has now I don't want this Vato to be out any more cash.
AS it is I offered to buy the 478 pin Possessor from him.
If someone wants the new 478 possessor and you have another Motherboard with processor already included then we can make a trade.

But I may take it off your hands for a shoe box of Sports cards worth over 300.00 - 1000,00 dollars.
tell him to get a pentium d805 2.8ghz, and overclock it to 4.1ghz with water cooling
With my POS 1996 HP I have never had that problem. I wish I could upgrade to the good stuff and have an over clocking issue. Which I find many PC owners don't look out for when they upgrade. After all why put a NASCAR motor in your VW Bug if you only drive though school zones?
I know this vato will be upset if he has to purchase anything else. After all that is why he came to me so he can fix his PC for 50 dollars or less.
Does anyone know a place in town where they will test his MB or CPU for under 10 bucks?
I think it's so Cheesy for Algens to want 25.00 dollars just to tell you (in 2 minutes) your CPU is gone and not give you a break on another one.
After all that is why the plumbers and Mechanics have free estimates so they can have your business.
If this guys spends 25 on his cpu test,and 25 on his MB test, he is out 50.00 dollars and we could use that on eBay.
all the motherboards I have lying around are not the right pin size to test his cpu.
What I don't like is when later on the customer comes clean and tells you they tried to put in some new memory stick and something shorted out. If I knew that from the get go I may have went another route. After this job I may just go back to selling weed.
