5 years ago this would have been more compelling. However, at this point it's all boxing has. Should be a good fight.
This should be a acious fight and one of the few that is actually worth buying on PPV. But if you decide not to, HBO will replay the fight next weekend.
It should be non stop action, bloody and close.
I like Marquez in a split decision.

No doubt it should've happened long before now.
I also like Marquez. I think he will win convincingly.
should be a uva showdown. hope my boy barrera wins.
BARERRA GOT ROBBED. That was some bull , dude got robbed.
Pacquiao kicked both of their asses. Marquez not so much though.
Damn I missed the fight too much St. Patricks day partying. What happened? How'd he get robbed?
barerra dominated throughout the entire fight, i gave marquez 2 rounds in all. shame it had to end so badly, this was a good compe ive fight. some joke of a judge scored it like 106-118 marquez... scores like this make you seriously question how ethical these clowns are. this decision did the already struggling sport of boxing a disfavor.
Who watches boxing anymore?
there are still some loyal boxing fans out there. i consider myself one, and right now is a great time to be a boxing fan. this was a good time to get back into it, with this fight being compe ve and the blockbuster de la hoya vs mayweather fight in may that should be very interesting. some big name epic battles could seriously revive the sport if you ask me.
MMA still owns boxing either way.
i agree. but what i'm saying is that even though its lost some of its luster and allure, professional boxing still has some good talent and imo will make something of a comeback.
Barrera should walk away from boxing. What they did to him is a joke. He won at the very least six rounds. I actually gave four rounds to Marquez. The fight itself was a good one. A damn good one, but the decision afterwards ruined a great fight.
One judge had it 118-109 for Marquez. The other two judges had it 116-111 for Marquez. That is a joke. Barrera actually won the first three rounds. Marquez then won rounds four and five. I gave the sixth to Barrera. The seventh round was the highlight of the night. Marquez was on his way of knocking down and possibly knocking out Barrera, but Barrera actually gathered himself and knocked Marquez down. The thing was, the idiotic ref, Nady didn't rule it a knockdown. He ruled it a slip.
The replay clearly showed Barrera hit Marquez on the jaw and caused Marquez to fall to the canvas. His knees didn't touch. He held himself up with his gloves. Barrera then went and punched Marquez in the forehead while Marquez was trying to pull himself up. Nady took one point away from Barrera for that punch will gave Marquez that round 10-8.
That round ruined the fight.
Take a look at the final CompuBox numbers....

I stand by my original prediction...close fight that Marquez should have one by a split decision. But even a Berrara win by that same margin could have been just as likely.
That's weak I hate when the Judges suck like that. They gave it to Marquez on the cards pretty easily. You would never know it was close from the decision. Sounds like Barrera got robbed.
Time for Barrera to retire.
