Oh, that's right - he's having a drink or 10 with Eddie and Sean.

Jordan wasn't all that solid to Aggy since Jan anyways. Word is Billy decided he didn't want to hire his AAU coach after all what with Jordan not likely to qualify.

Texas A&M recruit Jordan on the move?

A sign has emerged that star recruit DeAndre Jordan might be wavering on his commitment to Texas A&M.

On a standard form filled out by all players, Jordan -- who is scheduled to participate in Saturday's Adidas Derby Festival Basketball Classic in Louisville -- left blank the question about what college he will attend, game organizer Dan Owens said.

When Texas A&M's Gillispie was a rumored candidate for the Arkansas job, Jordan said he might follow the coach. He could not be reached after Gillispie became Kentucky's coach.

"Don't read too much into it," Owens said of Jordan's non-response. "But most players put the college they've committed to."

Typically, a school is part of a player's introduction at the Derby Festival game. Owens wasn't sure how Jordan will be introduced.

But he said he will ask Jordan for a school when the participants arrive in Louisville on Thursday. "Particularly in light of what he put down there or didn't put down there," Owens said.

    We're screwed...

Turgeon was just interviewed on The Pulse by Gottlieb and said he had spoken to all recruits this afternoon and expected all of them to honor their committment based on their conversations.

    I hope he is right!

People have been making a pretty deal about KSU saying that they don't let recruits out of their LOIs as a matter of policy, but that is actually pretty standard across the board unless the coach or player can make a of a case to the AD as to why they should be an exception.

The policy has been they don't let players out of LOIs after a coaching change until a replacement is in place. Following the hiring of a new coach the players are allowed to get out of their LOIs without penalty. That's how I have seen it explained in the past.

That's the way the Oklahoma thing shaked out last year with Damion James and the other kid.

They let them out due to the combination of the coaching change and violations hitting.

Highly-regarded prospect DeAndre Jordan will not follow Billy Gillispie to Kentucky, the player's AAU coach said Thursday.

Gillispie signed Jordan, a 6-foot-11 center, to play for Texas A&M. When Gillispie took the Kentucky coaching job last week, speculation arose about Jordan following him to Lexington.

"There's no truth to that," AAU coach Byron Smith said. "I know that makes for a great story. But no one from this camp is going to Kentucky.

"He's a loyal kid," Smith said of Jordan. "Once he gives his word, he sticks to it." Jordan has spoken to new Texas A&M Coach Mark Turgeon, Smith said. The two hit it off. Jordan will not seek a release from Texas A&M to play for Kentucky.

Jordan, whom the Prep Stars recruiting service rates among the top 12 prospects nationally, also had offers from Arizona and Connecticut. "At the end of the day, he's a Texas kid," Smith said of Jordan, who attends high school in Houston. "His family will be close" to Texas A&M. ... "Family takes precedence over Billy."

Smith vouched for Gillispie's coaching abilities and predicted a bright future for Kentucky.

"That's my guy," Smith said of the new UK coach. "I love him. ... I'm a basketball junkie, and so is he. He's going to spread some magic in Lexington."

Speculation about a possible transfer arose when Jordan did not write Texas A&M on a form he submitted for the Derby Festival game, a high school all-star game that will be played Saturday in Louisville.

Jordan left that space blank. Smith said it was a "simple mistake," not an indication of Jordan's wish to attend another school.

Brick Oettinger, an analyst for Prep Stars, said Jordan was a top prospect.

"Probably the best recruit Texas A&M has ever gotten," Oettinger said. "Ever. He will end up being, I suspect, a very good NBA player."
