well, if you like good fantasy stuff this is good. written in russian, only recently translated to english. the first two movies are filmed in russian, but the third one, dusk watch, is being filmed in english. the first movie got a limited run in art houses here a year or two ago. check them out, the effects are amazing.

Never seen Nigh ch, though I've heard of it. Didn't even know they were books to be honest.

I've watched the newest Daywatch trailer a bunch of times on the big screen. The effects look amazing.

Night Watch was decent, good special effects, atmospheric...intense. Russian cinema has got some interesting ideas. I heard this is like their LOTR.

I'm looking forward to catching Day Watch.

Got a chance to watch Daywatch about a week ago. All special effects and CGI aside, I was pretty impressed. One of the better movies I've seen this year. Now I want to see Nigh ch. A friend who I watched it with explained some of the backstory, which was helpful, but even still it felt pretty out in the open and easy to catch on.

I was pleasantly suprised. The movie was interesting, humorous, intense, stylish, and just sort of refreshing in general. Add to that, the special effects and cinematography were amazing in their own right. And the sub le work was enjoyable (it's like that in the first I hear?). The non Russian-speaking viewer can appreciate it. Couple of scenes I'd bring up but don't want to spoil anything...

If I'm not mistaken, it comes to the Bijou (Crossroads Mall) this friday.
