The link doesn't mention Iraq, at all. The only way you can claim he says the Iraq war is 'phony' is if you provide evidence that he has said Iraq is part of the war on terror.
I think Newt made it abundantly clear his reference to
a phony war was that the Politicians will not bite the
bullet and admit we have a real problem and that
problem is we have people who want to kill us any
way they can. And we have the "peace lovers" who
don't want to make them mad and keep causing all
these problems because it is all our fault and we
shouldn't have to sacrifice anything, why, well it
is inconvenient. And after all it we just talk to them
everything will be okay.......
The reason anyone listens to that hack anymore is beyond me. while were at it what does Pat Buchanan think of all of this?
