The guy is not all there.
LAS VEGAS - Investigators questioned O.J. Simpson and named him a suspect Friday in a break-in at a casino hotel room involving sports memorabilia.
The break-in was reported at the Palace Station casino late Thursday night, police spokesman Jose Montoya said. He said investigators determined the break-in involved sports collectibles.
"When they talked to him, Simpson made the comment that he believed the memorabilia was his," Montoya said. "We're getting conflicting stories from the two sides."
Simpson was released after he and several associates were questioned, but he is considered a suspect in the case, Montoya said. He is believed to be in Las Vegas.
"We don't believe he's going anywhere," he said.
The Heisman Trophy winner, ex-NFL star and actor lives near Miami and has been a tabloid staple since his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman were killed in 1994. Simpson was acquitted of murder charges, but a jury later held him liable for the killings in a wrongful death lawsuit.
Simpson has had to auction off his sports collectibles, including his Heisman Trophy, to pay some of the $33.5 million judgment awarded to the Goldman family.
On Thursday, the Goldman family published a book about the killings that Simpson had written under the le, "If I Did It." After a deal for Simpson to publish it fell through, the family bought the rights and re led the book "If I Did It: The Confessions of a Killer."
Investigators in the casino case planned to give their report to prosecutors Friday, Montoya said. The district attorney's office will decide whether to pursue charges.
Simpson had been scheduled to give a deposition Friday in Miami in a bankruptcy case involving his eldest daughter. But it was rescheduled because Simpson had told attorneys that he would be out of town.
Patricia Jones, a woman at the Florida office of Simpson attorney Yale L. Galanter who identified herself as Galanter's associate, said Galanter was out of town and had been forwarded messages seeking comment.
The Palace Station, an aging property just west of the Las Vegas Strip, is one of several Station Casinos-owned resorts that cater to locals. The 1,000-room hotel-casino, with a 21-story tower and adjacent buildings, opened in 1976.
A company spokeswoman did not immediately return a call for comment.

I liked this story better when it involved George Clooney and Don Cheadle.
He was simply hinting to the making of Oceans fourteen.![]()
"If Oceans Fourteen was made"
If this goes to trial, I hope they don't make him wear gloves again.
to quote eddie murphy's classic SNL piece on what it feels like to be white
"what a silly negro!"
He should have told the police that his name was Nordberg and he was simply working undercover.
Its ok though, I am confident that as we speak, he is out looking for the real burglars.

If only he had been holding dog fights in his hotel room....
Sociopath.
Some people still actually believe this guy was innocent and it amazes me
The only rational explanation I can think of is that he found a conscience, felt guilty over getting away with murder, so then went and did something so blatantly illegal that he'd have to go back to jail. It's a long shot of a reason, yeah, but it's the only one that makes even remote sense. I mean.... no one could possibly be this stupid..... right?
Hey I don't blame OJ he just wanted his Lucky get away with Murder suit back.

NEW: It's not clear what charges O.J. Simpson faces after arrest
NEW: Simpson says he's unsure why man was arrested in case Saturday

Simpson has said he was merely retrieving items that were stolen from him
LAS VEGAS, Nevada (CNN) -- Las Vegas police arrested O.J. Simpson on Sunday amid an investigation into an alleged armed robbery at a hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, a source close to the investigation said.
The charges he faces are unclear.
On Saturday, Las Vegas police arrested a man and seized two guns in connection with the alleged armed robbery, the source said.
Simpson had already been questioned during the investigation into several items of sports memorabilia that were taken from collectors at a room in the Palace Station Hotel and Casino. Simpson has said the items belonged to him.
Walter Alexander was arrested Saturday night and charged with two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, one count of conspiracy to commit robbery with a deadly weapon, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count of burglary with a deadly weapon, the source said.
Alexander, a resident of Arizona, was arrested on his way to McCarran International Airport, the source said.
During searches Saturday, police recovered two guns they believe were used in the alleged robbery, the source said. Watch a report on the latest developments in the probe »
"I don't know why they arrested him," Simpson said Sunday. "I've stayed in contact with the police and the truth will come out."
Simpson, 60, acknowledged that he entered the man's room with a group of friends, one of whom was posing as a potential buyer, after being tipped off that some of his personal items were for sale there.
Among the items were things he hadn't seen in years or that had been stolen, he said. They included photographs of his family and himself as a child, and photographs and negatives taken by his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson. Simpson said friends helped him carry the items from the room, but no guns were involved and the incident was not a robbery.
On Saturday, Simpson said that he and one of the alleged victims, Alfred Beardsley, spoke by telephone and agreed the incident had been blown out of proportion.
Beardsley confirmed the conversation to celebrity Web site TMZ.com, saying Simpson apologized to him and told him he regretted the incident.
The other alleged victim, Bruce Fromong, a sports memorabilia collector, said that two of the men accompanying Simpson pointed guns at the other occupants of the room in what he described as "a home invasion-type robbery." Watch Fromong talk about what happened
Fromong testified for Simpson's defense in the 1997 wrongful death trial stemming from a civil lawsuit filed by the family of Ron Goldman, who was killed in 1994 alongside Simpson's ex-wife.
Simpson was acquitted of the murders in 1995, but the jury in a 1997 civil trial found him liable and awarded the Goldmans $33.5 million for their son's wrongful death.
Fromong testified that prices for Simpson memorabilia had dropped substantially since the 1995 verdict. His testimony was part of the defense's contention that Simpson could not afford to pay the Goldmans.
Also on Friday, Thomas Riccio, a former business associate of Simpson, told KVVU television in Las Vegas that he told Simpson about the sale.
Riccio said someone told him last month that he wanted to auction some of Simpson's possessions by placing them on consignment. Riccio added that when he called Simpson to tell him about the planned sale, the former athlete told him the items had been stolen.
Riccio said that as he was being shown the items in the hotel room, Simpson entered the room and seized the items. He said there was no break-in and no gun was used.
Simpson's ex-wife and Goldman -- a waiter who had gone to her Los Angeles, California, home to return a pair of glasses -- were fatally stabbed outside her townhouse June 12, 1994. A jury found Simpson not guilty of the crimes.
Simpson recently wrote a book originally led "If I Did It" and planned to publish it himself, but a public outcry led to the cancellation of his book deal.
A bankruptcy judge subsequently awarded the Goldmans the rights to the book in light of their inability to collect the wrongful death award. They re led the book "If I Did It: Confessions of the Killer," which is in bookstores.
Coming from Random House in the Spring of 2008: the gripping thriller sequel to If I Did It, en led If I Robbed Them.
He's been charged. All felonies.

O.J. Faces Felony Charges in Robbery
By RYAN NAKASHIMA
LAS VEGAS (AP) - O.J. Simpson was arrested Sunday and faces multiple felony charges in an alleged armed robbery of collectors involving the former football great's sports memorabilia, authorities said.
Simpson was arrested shortly after 11 a.m., Capt. James Dillon said.
The charges against Simpson will include robbery with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and burglary with a firearm, all felonies, Dillon said. More charges could be brought against him, he said.
Simpson was being held at Las Vegas police offices pending the arrival of his lawyer, who was expected later Sunday, Dillon said.
"He was very cooperative, there were no issues," Dillon said.
At least one other person has been arrested and police said Sunday that as many as six people could be arrested in connection with the alleged armed robbery that occurred in a room inside the Palace Station casino-hotel on Thursday.
Simpson, 60, has said he and other people with him were retrieving items that belonged to him. Simpson has said there were no guns involved and that he went to the room at the casino only to get stolen mementos that included his Hall of Fame certificate and a picture of the running back with J. Edgar Hoover.
Simpson told The Associated Press on Saturday that he did not call the police to help reclaim the items because he has found the police unresponsive to him ever since his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman, were killed in 1994.
"The police, since my trouble, have not worked out for me," he said, noting that whenever he has called the police "It just becomes a story about O.J."
The Heisman Trophy winner, ex-NFL star and actor lives near Miami and has been a tabloid staple since his ex-wife and Goldman were killed in 1994. Simpson was acquitted of murder charges, but a jury later held him liable for the killings in a wrongful death lawsuit.
Police said two firearms and other evidence were seized at a private residence early Sunday.
Walter Alexander, 46, of Arizona, was arrested Saturday night on two counts of robbery with a deadly weapon, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and burglary with a deadly weapon.
He was released without bail on Saturday night, Dillon said.
Besides the two firearms, police said they seized other evidence during early morning searches of two residences, Lt. Clint Nichols said.
"It was evidence of a crime that was committed," Nichols said. "And I believe we recovered some clothing that the individual was wearing in the commission of the robbery."
Simpson said auction house owner Tom Riccio called him several weeks ago to say some collectors were selling some of his items. Riccio set up a meeting with collectors under the guise that he had a private collector interested in buying Simpson's items.
Simpson said he was accompanied by several men he met at a wedding tail party, and they took the collectibles.
Alfred Beardsley, one of the sports memorabilia collectors involved in the alleged robbery, has said he wants the case dropped and that he's "on O.J.'s side."
And then he'll write a book about how he did it...hypothetically, of course.
oops! Ex beat me to it!
Didn't the Goldmans change the le from "If I Did It" to "I Did It"?
Nicole's sister Denise was on Larry King's show on Friday talking about this whole thing, and when they were showing excerpts from the book, I could swear that the le had been changed.
I think he can buy a little leniency from the court if he tells them, "Hey, at least I didn't kill anyone this time. Count your blessings."
I heard they did change it.
I'm just glad they got him on felonies that (hopefully) will stick this time.
He belongs in jail, at this point I don't care what the charges are. Just put him away.
No...the 'If' is in very small print

I feel for the Goldmans, I really do. But I don't think they will ever have closure even if they tried. I saw the Oprah show, and she even asked them if they ever will get closure. Kim Goldman got offended by the question and said no. Oprah didn't mean it maliciously, but it HAS been 13 years.
BTW, they are getting 19 cents profit for every book sold. The rest is going towards attorney payments and various foundations. I guess he really trashes Nicole in the book calling her a bad mother, , etc.
She went to my high school (Dana Hills in Dana Pt, CA), but 7 years ahead of me. I think her sister, Dominique, was in my grade, but I didn't know her.
