Trevor Ariza from the Magic to the Lakers for Brian Cook and Maurice Evans.

Nice trade by the Lakers. Getting Ariza for a couple of scrubs is a nice deal. (This is Spurs related since Ariza has been a mythical Long Three target for a couple of years . . .)

Anything is Spurs related if you say it is TimVP, you guys run this .

It's like six degrees of Kevin Bacon, you could say any news about anyone relates to the Spurs, after all every team in the league does play against us...

An incredibly low price for Ariza.

You mean Orlando wouldn't have taken Butler and Scola for him?

Does that put Orlando at 16 players?

    Who's getting waived?

I'm not sure that Ariza was a that good fit as long SF with Spurs.
The reason why he didn't play with Orlando is that he can't shoot and teams often double Howard when he was playing. Ariza with Spurs would have allowed the other team to double Duncan. Spurs long SF must have at least a decent midrange jumper.

I don't even think Lakers are really interest in Ariza. IMO, this trade was more about dumping Cook's contract than getting Ariza.

He's not starter material. Nice to have on the bench, but it looks like he may not amount to much.

Yeah, dumping that guy actually made them better.

Dam it!!! Ariza is a very good defender and very athletic. We should have offer Bonner and Barry. He could eventually become Bowen's replacement

It will be interesting to see what will happen with Ariza. He will have a hard time getting playtime this year with Lakers because it takes some times to learn he triangle offense and because he isn't a that great fit for that offense (bad shooter and not a great BBIQ).
He has a player option at the end of the year : Will he stay with Lakers even he hasn't played for them this year ? Will he be able to get as much money than his player option ($3M)if he opts out ?

Not a huge steal, but somewhat a steal.

It's a steal. Did you know how bad Cook and Evans were? They were bad. Ariza's defense and rebounding will fit right in.

As evidenced by all the post-Shaq championships.
