12 million? wow
The Cubs, landing their biggest off-season target, have signed Japanese free-agent outfielder Kosuke Fukudome to a four-year contract, major-league sources confirmed to FOXSports.com.
The deal, first reported by WGN Radio in Chicago, is expected to be for approximately $12 million per season, sources said.
Fukudome, 30, gives the Cubs a left-handed hitter who will balance their heavily right-handed lineup. He is expected to be the team's everyday right fielder.

This makes me long for the days of Harry Caray. Can you imagine a drunken Harry trying to get this guy's name out during a late night West Coast game in June? The chance to hear Harry say " you, do me" makes me both shudder and weep for his passing.
Or a White Sox fan pissed at Jim Thome. " you, Thome!"
I think Ron Santo will get pretty close to doing it.
It would be awesome to hear anyone say " you, do me" in a broadcast, but sadly that can't be derived from "Fukudome" unless you blatantly pronounce his name incorrectly. It's not a hard name to pronounce with brief pre-broadcast coaching from the producers.
Oh, I know that. The Harry Caray thing was specifically intended to overcome that very fact, since Harry was the master at butchering names that could be easily learned with some pre-broadcast coaching -- particularly when he sounded like he'd gotten a few Buds down before or during the broadcast.
God, the days of him screwing up Grudzielanek's name up when the Cubbies played the Expos was legendary![]()
I remember him saying "Craig BIG-ee-oh".![]()
Hey! Would you eat the moon if it were made outta ribs? I would. Then I'd wash it down with a nice tall cool Bud. It'd be delicious.
