The man makes sense.
Fred's Talk To Iowa
only in your head
Thompson is the most mainstream conservative of the Republicans, and probably has the best vision of what he would do as President of any of them. When he first entered the campaign, I thought he was the "corporate" pick, like Bush was, but that is definitely not true. He is anything but a media creation (despite being an actor). If the Texas Republican primary were today, he'd get my vote.
It really seems as though he hates campaigning, though, which will make it tough to get elected.
Lots of guys say the right things.
We are so far past the stage where any single person, including the President, can actually do anything tho. The millions of people in the beaurocracies run the govt now...and they aint going nowhere and have zero incentive to get rid of their jobs.
You want decreased govt spending/growth/intrusion...it ain't gonna happen in any of our lifetimes. The only way it will happen now, is if the American economy is sucked so dry they can't increase the govt any more. We are approaching that point (business's leaving, not actually make anything, anymore,) but, ain't there yet.
So, yeah...politicians can say all the right things you want them to. Mebbe they'll even do some superficial social stuff that'll make headlines. Mebbe build a fence, or allow prayers in public. But the meat of the govt is here to stay folks...and it's just going to get hungrier and hungrier 'till the prey cannot support it any longer.
And that's the way it is, January 1, 2008!
SIG
BTW...nothing against Fred.
Any Repbublican would be stronger on Defense than any Democrat. Pretty much a given. Probably the only real reason to support Reps over Demos.
They'll both increase the size of govt. Heard too many GOPers talk about decreasing the size of govt, only to see it rise yet again. This includes Reagan. Not all their fault, because the Social En lements are mandated to increase every year, and that's 65% of our budget. So Govt is gonna increase forever whether they want it to or not.
Still, there are the social and Defense issues that they may have a little control over. Better than nothing I guess.
I'd vote for Fred...or Rudy...or even...or even....or even....Mm..mmm.....mcclain.

Huckabee is a farce. A phony. I see no sincerity in any thing
he has said so far.
Amen to that!
I'll listen to Thompson when he finally admits that his campaign has been a failure.

Yeah Fred Thompson is the best out of everyone, but he had horrible campaign managers.
I personally root for a McCain Thompson ticket.
THAT would be fantastic.
I like Romney, unfortunately he's been attacked for being Mormon. ing lame ass reason not to vote for him.
Not voting for a Mormon is legitimate to those that believe JC is their personal Lord and Savior.
Enlighten me.
What I know about Mormons consists of Brigham Young's multiple wives, HBO's "Big Love", and that an angel showed up in New York a couple hundred years ago with a newer testament. I'm sure we can argue regarding the industrious nature of such followers and their aversion to spirits, premartial sex, and those funny looking rabbit suit garment things they wear as an Iron Curtain to teenage hardons.
I respect the fact that Romney built himself into a millionaire and won elected office in an extremely liberal state. But to me, a Mormon is like a mutant evangelical that would unequivocally let his beliefs get in the way of effective government.
Besides, one candidate's a , one's a Muslim, one preaches weight loss and Baptist morals, one's the bald guy from Law and Order, one's a proven adulterer - in office, and one's a gy trial lawyer. There's also a rapidly aging Nam vet and and a libertarian picking up the pack.
Being a Mormon may be the lesser of twelve or so evils.
If a Mormon is running against a secularist who is Protestant in name only, who is preferrable?
Wonder why people haven't taken more note of
Obama's church. Check it out on the link below.
Obama's Chuch
Sounds like the church could be a little racist to me.
Well that my friend explains the rise of Huckabee.
Evangelicals voting for Huckabee because he is an evangelical is like blacks voting for Al Sharpton because he is black.
I guess they need to "integrate" into the "mainstream." Let them lose all sense of cultrual iden y.
So typical.
I have a Greek Orthodox friend. At his church, they insist upon speaking Greek and practicing Greek culture. They even have a Greek festival! Racists.
How much more note should be taken? I can't count how many times I've gotten emails forwarded to me about Obama's upbringing and/or his church.
I am simply pointing out that church issues are not a one
way street. Evidently being a Mormon and White is much
more serious. But being black and belonging to a
militant church is quite okay.
I guess integration and mainstream are bad in yourquoting Spawn I guess they need to "integrate" into the "mainstream." Let them lose all sense of cultrual iden y. So typical
estimation. And may I ask, as if I didn't already know,
what do you mean by "so typical".
Guess you want to play the old race card. If you
point out a critical thing about a minority of course you
are racist. How typical of a liberal.
Militant church? So a church that wants to celebrate its own heritage has to be militant? Poor Romney it is just so hard to be white and Mormon in this country.
Yes integration and mainstreaming is bad in my opinion and I could care less if you are a racist because unlike fools like MLK I could care less about trying to convince Whites on believing that they are better than they think they are. It is all about Black empowerment for me. If that is playing the "race card" then so be it.
Oh and me a Liberal Bwwwhaaaaaaaaa!!!
That south park episode regarding mormon's was in brilliant.
Oh, well so much for level playing field. Just give me
what I want when I want it, because I am a minority.
