i'm sure it's out now if you look hard enough
Word out in the street is that J.J. Abrams (Lost) is producing not directing a new unnamed disaster monster movie set in New York the trailer will be before "Transformers" and I hear it is pretty damn "scary" because the entire trailer was filmed with a home video camera, which made it look all the more authentic and scary (The Blair Witch Project) I have a description of the trailer if you want to be spoiled read the description if not then just see it if and when you watch the movie the trailer goes under the codename: 'Cloverfield' and will be released 1-18-08
It is from the perspective of people's camera in NYC. A huge earthquake breaks up a going away party. The people at the party go to the roof top just in time to catch lower Manhattan erupt into a ball of fire! They make their way to the street to witness the head of the statue of liberty fly down the street, and there is a monster roar or scream if you will, end clip with screaming!
Now I am not saying to go see 'Transformers' because of this I know I am not too enthused to see 'Transformers' because I can't stand Shia Labeouf or his damn annoying teen girl fans I am sure once the movie comes out the trailer will make its way to the Internet

It probably looks like that party scene from 'Signs' where you see a glimpse of the Alien
It's prolly the Star Trek movie
well somebody find a video damnit, now i wanna see it
this is all i could find:
imdb page
quote from wiki:
"Recently, it has come to light that JJ Abrams will be producing a film project currently know as "Cloverfield." The first official teaser trailer has been attached to prints of "Transformers" without a le."
quote from aicn:
So what is CLOVERFIELD? Well, word from inside the company is that CLOVERFIELD is a giant monster movie, featuring something that's being referred to internally as "The Parasite," and we’re going to see a trailer for it very soon that’s been designed and shot even as we speak. I’m not sure if it’s going to be attached to TRANSFORMERS or if we’ll see it later in the summer, but it’s definitely coming soon. And the end of it should feature one of those iconic images that makes people talk about a trailer for months.
And what makes this different than any other giant monster movie? Well, as I understand it, most of the film is going to be shot using home video cameras, as if from the point of view of real people who are experiencing an attack on New York. It’s designed as a fairly small picture, all things considered, and right now, they’re working to make sure the script is going to deliver some wild thrills (like an earthquake that levels Manhattan or an oil tanker flipping over by the Statue of Liberty), but that it’s not suddenly going to turn into a giant $150 million movie. It’s a tricky balance, and if they pull off everything they’re trying to do, CLOVERFIELD could be something really groovy. Not a man in suit in sight.
One rumor I heard is that it could be a remake of "The Host (Gwoemul)"
youtube trailer
the host wasnt really a disaster movie though... maybe if you count the river being contaminated... but it certaintly wasnt on a massive scale. it was more of a monster movie with a bunch of emphasis on the characters.
Yeah I doubt that the rumor of it being "The Host" remake is true good rumor though read the same thing that you posted jaffies it is just about everywhere now but it is top secret not even imdb has it listed but damn I am anxious to see it
i am totally stoked about this flick now!
and i dont even know what it is...man...this is the best type of marketing
They better not be remaking The Host, that movie was absolutely brilliant.
Read somewhere it's something about giant monsters attacking New York or possibly alien invasion. But they wanted to do it more "Blair Witch" style, and with a smaller budget.
Now I am hearing a rumor it is a Rodan movie doubt it though although the monster scream sure did sound like Rodan
I saw the trailer before Transformers and it definitely peeked my interest.
Very good trailer...of course now I have to wait until January!

The movie is currently called "Cloverfield" its a working le and might be changed. I saw the teaser last night it was decent but leaves much to the imagination. I'll get more excited as I see more... as for now I'm just like meh. Transformers was awesome though.
Well if you think about it to it s really easy to tell what the movie is.
3 hints
1.) Roars really load
2.) Sonic blast
3.) from JAPAN!!!!
Only one kick ass creature fits this profile
its GODZILLA and hopefully it will kick ass like the old ones but with new graphics
yah it sounds and looks like godzilla, but i doubt it. godzilla didnt come from the ground
I'm trying not to seek out too many rumors right now, especially after I saw the release date. Seems like the kind of movie you don't want to know much about. The teaser is pretty cool, seen it a few times on the big screen. It's definitely provocative. It's funny, a bunch of people thought it was the beginning of Transformers when I saw it. I wonder if they (Paramount) were explicitly going for that.
what in the is this:

I have a good hunch it might be godzilla too. If you remember the last Godzilla, there was one egg that was left, and right when the movie ended, it cracked open (the egg was underground too). so it seems plausable. And it would be sweet!!! Agree/disagree?
maybe its gzilla
i think it is something else though
some NEW monster
whatever it is, the movie, if hyped the right way, will be a SMASH at the box office and break some records.
