Remember GS owned Dallas during the 05-06 and 06-07 regular seasons, which gave the Warriors a huge psychological edge over Dallas before their 1st round meeting (we know what happened).

Looks like the Wiz are owning the Celts this season, and they seem to have that edge now.

    What do you think?

NBA would not allow the Celtics to get knocked out in the first round.

I would love that. But then again, I would like to see a Spurs-Celtics Finals.

Is this the same NBA that has let small-market, ratings-killer San Antonio win 4 of the last 9 championships?

I think very athletic swing men give Boston problems. Pierce and Allen can't guard J-Rich and Gerald Wallace. Neither can defend Caron Butler when he's on. Neither can guard LeBron. That could possibly something teams with athleticism and dynamic scoring on the wing can take advantage of.

Oh yeah ... and Gilbert Arenas will lose the series for the Wizards if they met up.

Cleveland swept San Antonio in the regular season last year. I remember back in the Dirk/Fin/Nash days, we beat Sacramento three out of four times in the regular season, only for them to come back and eliminate us in five games. Then the Kings won three out of the four regular season games the next season, only Dallas beat them in the playoffs. Sometimes these things carry over and sometimes they don't.

They're currently behind Milwaukee, Chicago and Indiana. They're lottery-bound.

    That's a good point.

And it's also true that Gilbert could ruin everything

Even the Knicks and the Heat still has a chance to make the playoffs out East. What more the Bobcats? Out East, anything is possible.

Well... okay. Maybe not the Heat. A little exaggeration here and there helps.

I really don't know what to make of Gilbert Arenas, he's talented as , on one side of the court anyways, and he has the supreme confidence you want in your best player -- he's unafraid of taking the last shot. He also was a big part of them turning around that franchise after a long playoff drought. But it's also true that the Wiz are playing better and unselfishly without him. Surely in the right system you could win with him.

moving Arenas to the 2 guard might be in order. otherwise, he's trade fodder.

Might be possible if Detroit is #1 in the East. I can't see the Wizards falling to the 8th seed
